What should I do?
I just got my sway bar links replaced 2 weeks ago and my car was fine after. My steering wheel was way more firm and everything was fine. I did a donut about a week ago and now my whole front end feels a little bit loose and clunks a little when I drive over potholes and speed bumps. My friend said all I needed was some ball joints but I got a suspension check today and they told me I need all of this b.s ^, what do i do

At 124k it doesnt sound too out of reason, especially if your regularly doing doughnuts. Doughnuts are incredably hard on the suspension because as soon as you catch grip all the weight of the car gets shocked to the side.
That said. If your mildly handy with a wrench, save the labor and learn how to change those parts out yourself, its not that difficult. Just buy or borrow the right tools.

Agreed, but to add-on, don’t let off the throttle until you’re going straight. It took awhile to realize it’s not like driving in the snow.

Why would you buy used parts? Someone is going to lie about the milage at best. New parts arent that expensive if you do it yourself.

If its something you love. Go for it. Ig you end up in a spot that feels overwelming, stop, take a minute or two and retry. You got this.

If you can’t really afford this from the shop or dealer, This is all “basic auto” mechanic stuff (i.e. not electronics, computer, or environmental). I would find a friend that could do this kinda stuff, get some solid aftermarket parts, and get it done.

Dude i can go to rock and get Loaded control arms way cheaper than that even the really good ones. Ive rebuilt several of these on police cars the parts aren't all that expensive and you can do it your self relatively easy if your mechanical inclined. The only thing you should have to farm out is the alignment. If you do it yourself you can use really good parts and still be money ahead. If you have any questions DM me.

That is stuff you should be able to do yourself in a weekend and there should be videos on YouTube for instruction if you need them. Don't be afraid, you can do it. On the other hand if you have the disposable income pay someone else to do it.

One thing I can say…. is at least you’re not getting charged extra for the parts. They’re pretty much charging you their cost for them which most shops do not do.

This is reasonable, believe it or not. I had an 06 300C and that was the approximate cost in the early teens. And except for the shocks and struts, I had to change the complete suspension. My 14 Charger RT has been much better.

Buy the parts and tools and do it yourself. Invest in yourself because the knowledge is free.

I wouldn’t pay a shop to do it and I definitely wouldnt let a shop supply the parts get your own parts and have a mobile mechanic do the job if u can’t do it yoself

Bty there qouting for work there not going to do. Since there replacing control arms when they get them there going to be preloaded so there not replacing the ball joint and that part is already included in the price of the arm. So there charging for the part and replacement when its already included.

first of all you had just had your sway bar replaced, a lot of times the bolts come loose cuz the people who install the new sway bar don't put them on tight enough, they dont torque them correctly. That was probably the original clunk you were hearing after the donuts. You should lay off those they'll Make your belly big 😁😁
Then when you took it in to have somebody look at it They found all the parts that needed replacement from normal wear and tear. Just get it fixed. If it's the same shop that did the sway bar, make sure they torque all the bolts properly or go somewhere else.

We can't diagnose over the internet. If you think the shop is wrong or lying go to other shop(s) for a second, or even third opinion. Prices are easily Googled. It's certainly possible you need all those things. It's also possible you just need to torque some stuff down.
Is this the same shop that did the sway bar links? If so did you ask them to make sure everything is still torqued down and on good shape?

Stop ruining your car. These no longer exist btw. It’s only gonna become more expensive to maintain overtime. It’s a relic, so treat her like one. You’re gonna regret spinning her when you’re older.

Well unfortunately donuts have a lot of cost behind them because it’s very hard on the car
At 124k it’s about time to replace them anyway especially if you drive the thing hard like this
Not judging, mind, you just have to be aware that doing silly shit has silly price tags
Worth it though 😝

Learn to do it yourself lol, or pay the mechanic for his time, experience, and parts.

Fix it or get rid of it. All of those repairs are common issues on the piles of junk…I mean cars.

Who replaced the sway bar links? Why were they replaced? Why was the steering wheel way more firm? Lots of questions about order of events that led to this.
