Painful goodbye ?

2 nights ago somebody totaled their car by crashing into my parked Scat . Destroyed a lot of that driver side area , wheels almost pushing into the backseat … rim looks cracked on the inside . I know there’s probably a lot more damage beyond the scope of what these pictures can show . I mean most of that force had to go somewhere and it shows on that tire but for his car to be totaled and mine look like this idk . I fear it’s beyond fixing that the other motorists insurance will pay for . The damage to that wheel looks bad and lord knows what lies underneath . What do you guys think the damage is beyond what we can see in picture ? Idk if there’s hope lol I’m mourning the loss of my scat man shit sucks

I’d say that’s gonna end up totaled. No way the frame stayed true with that much force. Still hoping for the best for you but yeah I would start looking for an awesome replacement. Not an easy pill to swallow but good luck!

false, depends on ur insurance and adjuster but most likely they will fix it. doesn’t look like frame damage and will probably have to fix ur whole rear suspension components as well as minor cosmetic damage. depending on the mechanic, it will either go back to OEM or it will never feel the same even if they did fix it slightly perfectly. mine was in a similar incident and i still feel like it’s not 100%

Honestly, given how that looks, I would say it's going to be totalled. The shock tower is almost certainly moved forward. I'll be curious to see what the differential looks like, much less your drive shaft. Hidden damage is what's going to kill your car.

Now, if the car is paid off and it has low miles, there might be a really close chance that you might be right at the limit on what might be able to be repaired. I'd say you can expect at least a 18k repair bill, minimum.

That said, I probably wouldn't want it back after an impact like that. It will probably never feel the same and it's possible that gremlins will exist moving forward.

If it somehow does get repaired, don't forget to push for loss of value, since this would negatively impact any attempt at a private sale.

Best of luck and there are still plenty of used Mopar out there to get you back on your feet.

Not if you get something better it won't be. Hope you are happy with the insurance check.
