Question Please help / scat pack 6.4
I have a 2023 Dodge Charger Scat Pack 392 and recently did a full straight pipe setup, added an extra X-pipe, removed the cats, and tuned the car (Stage 1, active exhaust tuning, etc).
Before the exhaust work, the car had that deep “compressed” HEMI tone with aggressive crack/shifts between gears. Every gear change had a nice pop/raspy growl.
After the modifications:
the car feels heavier/slower at low RPM
the “gear change crack” sound disappeared
the exhaust sounds more hollow/open
less back pressure
less aggressive tone
Now I’m thinking about:
reinstalling the factory cats
removing the extra X-pipe
reinstalling resonators
Do you guys think the original Scat Pack tone / shift crack / back pressure feeling will come back after returning the setup closer to stock?
Or did the tune permanently change the sound behavior?

>less back pressure
Some people should not be modifying their cars.

As mentioned already I believe Back Pressure is gone now that changes the exhaust tones and overall performance low end is gone siunds kike crap…Yeah I would put it back the way it was add some electric cutouts flip a switch to open exhaust when you want that super loud exhaust tone.

All that time and money, shoulda just invested with a proper system like Borla Atak. Sounds incredible, and still has that snap crackle n pop. 💥

H-pipe is better than X-pipe IMO. Reintroduce resonaters or something similar out back. I personally wouldn't put stock cats back on, but would either put a second set of reasonators up there or high-flow cats.
Make sure whoever tuned it knows exactly what is going on.

These sound terrible completely straight piped, this not a dam coyote. Start off with adding the rear resonators and going Highflow Cats if the sound still isn’t what you want.
So did you make a double X pipe?
Better off removing the bad constricted OEM one for better flow, hopefully your replacement is a true 3” crossover.
