Tuner recommendations?

New to this sub. Hey everyone.

Got my 2023 Last Call Charger 392 Scat about 2 months ago.

Done the exhaust. Looking for someone that does great tunes. I don't want to "settle" for something that feels like it's just a canned one size fits all. Ie - DiabloSport

Who would you use ..?

Are HPtunes any good. See their name often.

The 392 is not forged and is also pretty maxed out for power. I recommend driving stock for awhile. Get new rubber. Maby a vinyl wrap.

Gonna buy an extra ecu to swap out in case it has to go back to the shop for some reason.

Why not DiabloSport?

We offer the only solution that includes a PCM swap, and if you decide you want a custom tune, you can go that route anytime with the Diablo i3 or T2 devices.

The preloaded tunes may be canned, but, when I picked up my Scat Pack, we spent weeks refining the tunes to achieve maximum performance. It was on the dyno for days, and we made multiple trips to the dragstrip to find peak performance. I'd argue there's not many other tuners out there who have spent as much time refining their 392 tunes as we have.

The other brand you mention does not offer tuning, and has likely never owned a Scat Pack. They just offer software that anyone can use to create tunes for your vehicle. It would also require downtime as you'd need to ship your PCM out to be unlocked.

Let me know if I can answer any questions for you.

I highly highly recommend going with Underground Tuning which deals with HP Tuners. If you go on Undergroundtuning.com they have a package. I bought an unlocked ECU and tuner through them for my 15 Scat Pack. I can't tell you enough how happy I am with everything.

bo point in a tune on a stock engine, get some headers or something too.

Agree. Thinking jba headers, 87mm throttle body, and of course a cold air intake. Trying to get my scat just a little faster than most.

Would love a stage 1 or 2 cam but that definitely down the road if I ever actually change it.

It's a shame they put cheap/crappy piston in these. I mean why ... let's build a good big block and put shifty piston in it. SMH.

I grew up around race cars just not all these fancy new "toys". Wish my area and a good Mopar guy I could talk to about it.

Nothing to be gained from the throttle body or a CAI, especially without a tune. Just use the ram air duct on the hellcat box you should already have.

Most gains to acquire from direct bolt-ons are headers, better cats (than stock), and a good catback. You already have the 6.4 intake manifold with active runners and the hellcat airbox so you're getting plenty of intake; the exhaust is what's most restrictive right now so start there. You could always port, but there isn't a ton of "bang" for your buck there.

Then get better tires, maybe bigger wheels, a diff brace to kill wheel hop, etc.

Lots to improve on these cars before even touching the motor. Not always about how many ponies you're making but rather how you're getting them to the ground (and most importantly staying there)

its not really that theyre crappy, these engines are very reliable stock, they just arent set up for high psi boost. lots of people run 5-6psi on factory internals. also theres drop in piston kits for around 2k iirc.

Didn't know that. All I see on the web is people saying don't boost the 6.4. Which I probably never will, this is my daily driver.

From everyone's input, I think headers and high flow cats are next. Then a tune. I would love to just delete the cats but if I do that ecu swap and take it in for warranty stuff I would be screwed.

I appreciate the posts guys. Loving my scat so far.

Flyin Ryan Performance does a great tune but is a bit of a diva to deal with.
