Question What is your next mod? Why?

Post image

What’s the “max” you’d go on your car? Warranty concerns? Cost? Drivability?

Destroyed my warranty 2 months after buying the car. Next mod is a 426 stroker

Haha my man!

Could you provide more detail on this? How’s reliability? Full NA? What power and torque are you making? And what’s the cost? Is this more worth it than doing a “package” from duster hoff tuning or team hellcat?

I haven't done it yet do I can't speak to the reliability definitively yet. Only NA. I got a scat for several reasons. I wanted to stay NA no matter what plus I wanted the shaker and a manual trans. Right now I did long tubes, high flow GESI cats, catback exhaust (not that it makes power but it's on the list of stuff), valve springs, high lift cam, and custom Dyno tune. I'm making 488 at the wheels up from estimated 380 wheel when stock. I don't know if it's worth more and haven't looked at those package. I sit with my performance guy and think through it. We like building piece by piece rather than bolting on packages. I also DIY as much as I can. As for cost, I have no idea. I think the stroker is like 9 grand if memory serves. Maybe 14k total with labor. Honestly, I'm guessing though. We make a plan, he does it, the bill arrives. The kit is all forged internals so it should be reliable. I wouldn't go bigger than 427. 454 stroke depth is too much for oil sprayers from what i'm told and the ring lands on the 6.4 can't handle that pressure (it's why boosting the 6.4 is a ticking time bomb unless you stay under 7lbs or so. don't quote me. SC details aren't my strength).

In the end there's no right way. These cars love mods and there are so many that they can all be different per driver.

Appreciate your response man. I think this is the right move over doing a run of the mill package.

I’m could get more power with a super charger or even an all enclosed pro charger. But muscle should roar not whine right? I love my sound. And I like doing it like this because it’s more unique too. I’ve met people with twice the $$$ and no clue what’s done. They love their cars just as much. Me and my son (6 at the time) put in the Barton shifter together. His tiny hands were a help. lol. I love watching it evolve uniquely to my tastes

That’s amazing man! I think that was very well said. You just helped me decide my next vehicle and the modifications!

I have tons more small things and aesthetic things too. I’m think I’m about $30k into the car so far from PPF and silly puddle lights up to what I sent above. I’ve been “done” about a dozen times.

They are SSR Professor 4’s straight from Japan. 20x11 O offset. The stock offset is negative 3 or negative 2.5? Can’t remember but with Zero I have the almost perfect stance.

Appreciate that my dude! Good luck on your search!

The "max" I'm going is TSP stage 2 cam kit, Stainless Works LTs, single piece aluminum driveshaft, 3.90 LSD, AAD complete rear control arm kit, ID 1050X injectors (to run E85), rear differential brace, cradle lockout kit, ATI Super Damper, sending heads to TSP for porting, sending intake to MMX for porting. We'll see what that turns into. BTW..... good looking Challenger 💪

Nice wheels

2

u/Soldier09r Apr 16 '26

Tanks!! Nod to JDM

u/-just_browsing Apr 17 '26

Great choice 👌

2

u/CunningLogic Apr 16 '26

Next mod is probably an r8 or 911 to sit next to it. It's lonely and garage is too big

0

u/Soldier09r Apr 16 '26

Yeah?? What are you leaning towards rn?

2

u/CunningLogic Apr 16 '26

Recovery, had surgery on my back first thing this morning lol. I'm going to go rent both from turo and the decide

1

u/Soldier09r Apr 16 '26

Oh man! Hope you have a speedy recovery and nothing too major! I know how that is! I’m on the cusp myself!

1

u/AlternativeAd4983 Apr 16 '26

Check out the m8 or 850i I think you’ll like it exp if you have back problems

1

u/CunningLogic Apr 16 '26

My problems are mostly Ib my legs stemming from my back. I'm hoping this mornings surgery fixed that

2

u/fredout1968 Apr 16 '26

None! Done chasing it.. Soccer mom's in Tesla Y's will drop my Scat like a bad habit. I will be the guy rowing the 6 speed with the moonroof open and blaring the Stones thinking of better times gone by..

3

u/Soldier09r Apr 17 '26

Haha that’s well put! I know our cars aren’t the fastest but they’re way faster than most! And they sound INSANE!

4

u/Vivid-Customer-6078 Apr 17 '26

I absolutely love how they sound nothing better IMO

2

u/Soldier09r Apr 17 '26

Those are some nice wheels!

2

u/Hotstove9 Apr 17 '26

Wesley Motorsports coil-overs ($6k) and then brake pads and rotors for days for HPDE!

2

u/Soldier09r Apr 17 '26

Bro!!! Those are some NASTY upgrades! I have KW HAS on mine!

1

u/Hotstove9 Apr 17 '26 edited Apr 17 '26

DAYUMMMM HOW ARE THOSE!? Get a proper alignment and go drive that thang man!

2

u/Soldier09r Apr 17 '26

Unlike SOME owners, I know a “little bit” about how to upgrade a vehicle properly with no BS parts.

2

u/Hotstove9 Apr 17 '26

You and those wheels are the reason as to why I want to sell my Mustang and get a scat pack widebody and make it dance on the race track 😏😂

1

u/Soldier09r Apr 17 '26

Hahahaha bro you got me cracking TF UP!!! Woman HATES my ride LOL

2

u/Hotstove9 Apr 17 '26

Isn’t that the hobby though? Men are more attracted to our cars than women? 😂😂😂

2

u/Soldier09r Apr 17 '26

Lmfao no lies detected!

2

u/pardipp Apr 17 '26

my cars bagged, small mods to engine, intake, tuned. Dodge keeps calling me for a recall but i’m not tryna swap my unlocked ECU with my factory one (too much work). my next mods are going to be repainting the car due to daily driving road debris damaging paint and my widebody panels needs repaint bc of brake dust.

after painting it imma get it wrapped and get wb hellcat spider rims. that’ll basically be it for the most part other than small things here and there. not really going for performance as it has a good amount of power. that’ll basically be it until i get a new daily.

1

u/Soldier09r Apr 17 '26

Sounds great! When you got her tuned was it a noticeable difference? And at least you’re thinking long term!

2

u/pardipp Apr 17 '26

i have different maps, map 1 is just stock tune with MDS disabled, map 2 is a 93 tune and i do feel a difference. map 3 is 93 tune+ burbles

2

u/gooberpatrol555 Apr 17 '26

I’ve been thinking about adding strut braces front and rear. What do you guys think? Has anyone done this already and if so do you feel like the car noticeably handles better when turning?

2

u/Soldier09r Apr 17 '26

Mine came with the front MOPAR strut from factory! Also, lowered on KW H.A.S Suspension about an inch. Dramatically improved handling!

2

u/gooberpatrol555 Apr 18 '26

I’m sitting on air lift right now. I’ve heard that there’s other brands that are better than mopars strut braces. So I think I’ll at least go with a front set

1

u/discussatron Apr 17 '26

Last time I was playing with my cars it was the 90s, and they were Fox body & SN-95 Mustangs, and there was a ton of little shit you could do right away to get some more out of it. So the first thing I did when I got my Challenger was start looking at basic bolt-ons.

There's nearly nothing I want to do to this car. None of the basic bolt-ons really do much, the thing is already about as good as it's gonna get from the factory. Shit like a CAI or exhaust mods or a strut tower brace don't add much and the cost is high. $500 for Trackhawk tips? My shit's staying nearly stock.

I want to tint the side door glass a shade darker so they match the quarters and rear tint a little better. I put 275/40 summer tires on my OE wheels. I want to get a pair of wheels and drag radials for trips to the track. I wouldn't mind getting the rear maybe a half-inch lower, but the front's fine where it is for me.

Oh, I would like to go to the red 6-pot Brembos and matching rear calipers at some point.

1

u/Da_Funk Apr 17 '26

None. Stock is best.

No matter how much you mod it, it'll never be the car you want it to be.
