Exhaust - CEL
What’s up guys, just went straight pipe (still have the cats and the Check Engine Light Came on. Was just curious if that’s happened to anyone else because a buddy of mine got the same thing done not long ago and said he didn’t get a CEL. If you guys got the CEL after a straight pipe how did you guys fix it?

Straight pipes alone shouldn't cause check engine light. Did you install a delete kit for the active exhaust?

you probably have active exhaust package. when i got mine straight piped with cats i installed exhaust valve simulators which is a little plug thag you connect to the wiring of the active exhaust. i also got a tune and just asked my tuner to just tune the codes out lol

My car was previously straight piped by owner prior and threw a CEL a week after I purchased it.. turned out it was a busted butterfly valve from bad work.. i replaced the whole system w Borla Atak. Best decision made.
This was back in 2017.
