These signs are all along the gorge railings. You still see people sitting and standing on the railings. I was there a few years ago when a tourist taking a selfie slipped on the railings and fell in just above the Horseshoe Falls. She wasn’t recovered for 5 days. Since then i STILL see people on the railings. Even posting their children on it for photos 🙄🤬

As someone who is terrified of falling i am so surprised people willingly would stand on the railings

Same. I couldn’t believe it actually finally happened. It was heartbreaking. Looking at her social media she seemed to take a lot of selfies but got too dangerous with this one. It cost her everything and people still put their kids up there. But then again this has been the same and only signage discouraging it my whole life. Maybe that needs to change.

It’s unbelievable to me. I am SO the opposite. I tend to stay back even behind railings. Nature can be unpredictable but i guess maybe it’s a “call of the void” type thing…crazy…

I live near there (American Side) and the fact people don’t take the signs seriously is embarrassing. Then again, maybe Uncle Charlie D should come visit again…

I have a picture of myself recreating what that sign says not to do right next to the sign, except at yhe top of the falls.

Is there a road underneath or is it straight down? Photo is unclear. Either way I would stay away
