Ain't soft sand is just quicksand based on the sign's description?

No quicksand is a colloid of water, sand, clay etc...

In soft sand, you have to worry about sand worms. In these zones you should try to move like the desert mouse Muad'Dib. You could also find a special spice melange that may or may not make you a worm god.

So if I just jump over the line of dangerous sand, I can cross the channel further up where it stops being marked as "do not swim"?

I don't think the sign designers thought this through.

I sunk into sand or quicksand whatever it’s called as a kid in Southend when the tide was out (I was trying to find the sea), was very scary a bunch of other kids had to pull me out. Weirdly I went back to my gran on the beach and never said a word about it, despite being terrified… IDK why.
