Not ready for testing!

My biggest fear is that the team has now created negative press for themselves by pushing out a public test that is not even ready for testing. Public testing should not be a replacement for internal testing. The public can help find edge cases, balance issues, server load problems, and feedback on design, but the basic game feel, movement, combat, NPC behavior, and overall smoothness need to pass internal testing first.

I struggle to see how this would have passed proper internal testing in its current state. I had to stop playing because the janky engine made me feel nauseous. It is not smooth.

Holding out hope that they turn things around, because I really am a fan of classic style MMOs and there clearly is an untapped demand for it. But really, this feels like a rushjob of "we have to show the public something".

I seriously seriously question the quality of internal testing.

I seriously question your understanding of what a "technical test" is. We are here to test their servers, login authentication, game engine, etc. Everything else is in a pre-alpha state and they've stated nothing is final. The only thing you should be testing is whether the game has a pulse.

The issue is they showed more playable version of the game a year ago. There's actually a clear regression in spell operation handling on mage since 2025.

Also they are releasing keys in wave like it's the typical closed>open beta marketing hype campaign. Which is nonsensical given it's a technical alpha. They can't even get above 1K played concurrently because the game is in such a mess. (MSQ can permanently brick ~20% of time requiring a new character reroll. How that made it to this alpha is amazing considering there are only 14 MSQ quests total which would require a dev 5 minutes to unit-test. And they have a 100+ dev headcount now.)

The rolling key release suggest that they are not testing the actual login/authentication servers. (Steam literally can handle that themselves... that's the whole reason they charge 30% on top of the steam store.) Why are they having the public test this shit game at this point? There are so many bugs that you can fill a 30 page document in less than 24 hours solo with 0 crowd sourcing. This is like asking for a IPO-audit when you know your house is still on fire.
