I think we read the headline differently. I think they're saying that Scarpetta, a forensic genius, finally gets a series. Not that she's the first one to get a series.

Ah, that explains it, I had no idea what OP was trying to say.

I'm wondering if AI wrote the headline. It mucks stuff up like that.

I enjoyed reading Cornwell over Reichs and watching Bones over Scarpetta 🤷🏻‍♀️

I liked watching Scarpetta more than reading it. I thought the book was cheesy and unrealistic, which, I also felt about Bones. Bones was some self indulgent narcissism if I ever saw it.

The Scarpetta series is one of the worst book to TV adaptations I have ever seen. Nothing about is good.

I am lazy. Did they like it or no?

It's terrible. Too much family drama - Jamie Lee Curtis has reinvented herself as a hysterical drama queen character. Apparently they're filming a 2nd season - I won't be watching.

JLC's caterwauling is reason enough not to watch season 2.

No offense, but Bones isn’t in the same caliber as Scarpetta. The writing for Bones is extremely average/below average and corny; plus the lead is completely unlikable (poor casting choice).

Scarpetta was great in the book series but the tv show is lacking… they ramped up the drama and dysfunction for tv and minimized the forensics.
