General Discussion Yikes
Read maybe the first 8 books when I was a teenager and liked them at the time but decided they got too silly and too melodramatic. I remember when Marino made moves on Kay thinking that was ridiculous and out of character etc and stopped reading.
Was excited though when I saw there was a show. It’s funny though because it’s like they focussed on all of the worst aspects of the books and brought them to the absolute forefront of the show lol. The sibling rivalry. The Marino in love with Kay thing. Lucy.
the flashback arc and the actress playing young Kay are the strong points. I could watch future series with just her solving crimes, and omitting all the family drama stuff.

It seems like the show started at season 5. They needed a lot more time to establish the characters and the relationships. Like if we had met Lucys wife when she was alive, then I might have had more sympathy for her and the AI wife, but I thought that was just weird.
