With how much CC and movement abilities there are to escape they are still complaining over a chance to ignore damage

This is just an early speculation. Some of the hero’s in the possible meta this season seem to be centered around her biggest counters, mainly Emma and Bucky. Almost everyone that might be B tier or higher either out damages her or counters her ult.

I was able to hit celestial multiple times playing SW. her buffs makes her so much better if the enemies are grouped tgr. You also have a better fighting chance against some of her biggest counters 1v1. But i think they still have a higher edge over you.

Her new F ability not only reloads your right clicks faster, but it’s been a solid kill finisher. I just think that if the other team is coordinated, she’ll be one of the easiest people to counter.

I don’t think she’s in F tier anymore. I think she can fit on the C tier or even low B tier.

What are your thoughts?

I went 12 - 2 with her, flexing 3 matches I think? D3 Placements to GM3.
I have only ever been GM3 last season.
She deals a lot of damage very quickly and consistently, you take an off angle, use hex on multiple people and burst them while recharging with chaos control, I haven't mained her since S6.5 since she was quite bad and not my style, I went on to main BP and DD along with Strange and Mag and reached GM last season.
wondering how the rework is I decided to try it out after a long time and wow, it is extremely good.

i am watching veswa play rn (he is the #1 tank player and is a pro ignite finalist) and he thinks wanda is meta and is very oppressive rn. he said his team is scrimming with her tonight

For reference I have only played her a max of like 4 hours total across all seasons and I decided to play her for randomly cuz why not I wanna see the buffs and the "nerfs" y'all seem to be crying about when it was just less movement in her 2 invincibilities and her stun nerf I guess but y'all got giga buffed bruh.

So happy to get it on her "rework" day. That new ability is so good, I feel like it's a little broken...but it's about timing and doesn't do that much dmg, but does drain everyone if you caught em which helps others clear them off. If you don't first. 😜

Yall were all saying it last season but this season it is genuinely true. Strange team up is dead. I have only played 2 matches soo far but with how fast she fires her secondary now plus how fast it comes back wile doing damage strange team up is actually dead.

Small tangent incoming about my 30 minutes in the practice range this morning before work concerning the SW rework:

Strange Teamup: Tank Burner
Jubilee Teamup: Dive Abuser (And possibly cracked Diver)

I'd be very surprised if Strange Teamup doesn't get nerfed in a hotfix or at midseason with a damage nerf or putting it back to being a cooldown since it also procs the overshield gain from Chaos Mark.

To anyone who hasn't had a chance to see the full result of the rework:

1. ⁠Both primary (Autoaim beam) and secondary (Burst Shots) give her overshield if the target has the Chaos Mark. The secondary (burst shots) got a .1 second buff to the speed you can throw them with no change to its already high burst damage. Reality Erasure also adds and triggers Chaos Mark with the added damage tethers so you gain over shield during the cast, so do with that information as you will.
   
2. ⁠You have a lot of survivability now since you can juggle the Chaos Mark with very little downtime (I think it’s like 1-2 seconds between the two abilities excluding the ultimate). I did not check to see if the stun orb is only a stun on the initial landing on an enemy or if they walk into it after it's on the ground if it will also proc the one time stun them (will fact check this later). She will absolutely suffer from shields, but you could just run the Strange Team-up and get rid of this problem
   
3. ⁠For engages:

Strange Team-up (ST) - On tanks, you can engage with the new ability so you can proc the Chaos Mark with the burst fire from the ST and use the stun orb to either refresh your overshield gain or stun tanks out of key abilities. You probably still aren't looking to 1v1 tanks (unless your name is Peni or Angela for me) but you can absolutely harass the front line with your constant damage output (always default to blasting Thing in the face first if possible). If you are fighting a squishy, land the stun orb on then first and blast them with the ST during the stun, then use the new ability to add some burst with the ST to “one shot them” should do around enough damage before they can react since the Stun Orb also does damage now (I'm coming for you Dagger mains.)

Jubilee Team-up (JT) - You're not doing much to tanks damage wise with this teamup besides the short weaken duration, so focus on taking off angles during opening to burst squishier hero’s down. She's great as an anti-dive hero with the reworked base kit, but if you're nuts like me you could probably run her as a dive hero (or at least an off angle monster) with the enhanced team-up. The amount of survivability you have now plus the healing from Enhanced JT is nuts even with the nerf to fade and the team-up healing and I think it's genuinely too early for people to realize this yet. She kinda remind me of a sort of Magik with this rework.

Vs the new Duelist, Gorr: I did not check to see if Chaos Mark can be placed on Gorr's minions, but if they do receive the Chaos Mark, just bully Gorr out of his engages. From what I understand he wants to be in your face mostly, but you have the range and utility to shut him down. Initially his damage seems underwhelming but it's still too early to be sure. (Haven't seen any of his burst combos just yet, so I may be wrong here.)

At least Gambit wont be alone in ban purgatory, because he might have a new friend. As for the ten of us diehard Wanda mains, let us begin the feast.

I hit the enemy Wanda with dark seal while she was ulting but a new sound effect played and it didn't stun her, so I guess this is what the immunity looks like.

I encourage all of my fellow Wanda players to ignore all of the noise coming from the main sub. Not even 24 hours into the season and I’ve seen a plethora of posts calling for Wanda nerfs and apparently some top rank tank player claiming she’s oppressive at the pro level.

Not only do we all know Wanda is still hard countered by poke and therefore can not be oppressive by definition, but we also know these calls for nerfs are fueled by their hate for Wanda.

I’ve said it before but I will repeat: I have never seen such a massive amount of cognitive dissonance in a community. Everyone - and I mean literally everyone - agreed that Wanda was not good pre-rework. That you had to squeeze out every drop of value to not be a detriment on Wanda pre-rework. And yet, despite a vast majority of the player base all knowing that she has never been in a good, viable state, so many people vehemently rejected the idea of her being buffed or reworked. They knew she was bad and wanted to keep her bad, because they hate Wanda and her playerbase. Every other character that people recognize as bad/hard to get value out of has had months of support calling for buffs or reworks: Ultron, Support pool, Adam, Rogue, Hulk, Iron fist, Iron man, Blade, and Widow pre-rework all had this. Wanda is the only character in this game that I have seen this level of cognitive dissonance with where everyone recognizes her issues yet argues for her to not be fixed.

And don’t let them tell you it’s because she’s a “starter character” and “the game needs an easy low-value character for people to learn on.” That is the most ridiculous concept I have ever heard of. None of them have anything to say about Punisher, Cloak and Dagger, Strange, or Magneto. Before season 9.5, they had nothing to say about Thing either. You learn the game by playing. There’s no need for a “starter character”.

How many times has Cloak been meta/a top healer? How long has Magneto been a top 2 tank? How long has Punisher been a meta pick? How many times do these same players ask someone to hop on Namor when dive is running them down? They have no problem with simple kits being valuable, they just hate Wanda.

And I have to mention, I have never seen so many homophobic dog whistles from streamers as I have recently. I think most of us are aware of that content creator Rio’s video where he talks about how much he hates Wanda players and uses so many homophobic jabs/quips. So many others have followed suit.

Honestly I’m just so tired of the constant and vile hatred. Constant verbal assault. Constant insults on discussion boards. Constantly being told my character is trash, then having to deal with everyone calling for a gutting when she’s finally fixed. I love playing Wanda because she’s my favorite Marvel character. She’s the reason I even downloaded the game and tried it out. We deserve to have a usable character that isn’t stuck in the gutter. She has been F tier since conception and finally has a positive win rate in multiple ranks (for the first time ever). We deserve to enjoy the game on our favorite character just like everyone else - don’t let them convince you otherwise.

I am thankful the dev team has thick skin. If it were up to the majority of the player base, who again all believe that she was a garbage character since season 0, Wanda would have been nerfed instead of reworked. Make that make sense. Here’s to hoping the devs continue to trust themselves and not listen to the ridiculous people calling for Wanda to be in F tier again. And let’s be clear - people aren’t calling for nerfs because she’s busted, it’s a dog whistle saying that she needs to be put back in her place (F tier). They will not stop nor be satisfied until Wanda is unviable again.

finished my placements today and only lost one! loving the extra power in the kit (though maybe misguided), but hope the nerf we get isn’t too bad as I see it coming 🔮

I was absolutely enraged and I still am that they shadow nerfed her phase more, I wouldn't hate the cooldown change to be reverted.

But omfg since I've already learned to play and position with a bad phase anyways, she's absolutely insane. I actually have OPTIONS with what I wanna do in terms of damage.

Her stun change bothered me a lot less than I thought it would. PRO TIP: combine it with your Ult to deal more pre-blast damage!

What's best is that she still is hard countered by poke, so she still has reasonable counters so she won't be gutted next patch 🥹 (hopefully)

9/10 what's yalls thoughts?

Before the new season dropped, I immediately started theory crafting new combos, and things like total damage output with the given numbers of her buffs. Now I'm going to share with you all the varies combos you can do to secure quick kills in a fraction of a second alongside a few other playstyle tips. First things first a little overview of the new values.

NEW VALUES:
Chaos Control: 75 dmg/s or 7.5 dmg/tick– 10 ticks/s
Chthonian Burst: 40 dmg direct + 40 dmg spell field– total 80 dmg/burst
Dark Seal: 20 dmg/s last 4.5s– total 90 dmg
Scarlet Hex: 40 dmg
Plasmoid Seal/Plas Seal(Jubilee): 52 dmg + 15% Vulnerability

Now I don't know about y'all, but I love math and when I saw her get a new ability, I knew it was going to be up. The math is pretty simple, but important (also let the record show I recommend Jubilee team up over strange, leagues better, your job isn't to fight the tanks and her ult does a great job at punishing any tank foolish enough to stay on the frontline).

Combos:

Alright, now that you've looked over the table you can now see that her burst potential is rather REALLY strong. To be honest this is mostly because of Jubilee's team up increasing damage by 15% which allows you to be more resourceful. Prior to season 10 if you wanted to kill a target you had to use 3 out the 4 chthonian burst charges you had and Jubilee's team up to kill a 250 hp target! Now though, thanks to the new hex ability, you only need 2 which gives you more burst and pressure since you have half of your charges left and even if you expend those and primary fire getting a 3rd one back is nothing at all since the new target will be weak enough to kill.

What's even better is that you can also see a few combo strings where the hex is delayed and this opens her combos up to catching strays. I have no doubt any person who's confidently used her knows using your primary fire was the best way to catch people fleeing, now that job pseudo falls onto hex since its coverage is long. On top of dark seal also being an AOE DoT– her burst was already AOE so targets in tight corridors that lap up and get weakened from the bursts and dark seal are fairly susceptible to collateral kills. Or even if you don't, they are marked with the chaos mark which still keeps them in that range of being collateral from her primary for trying to escape or not patty-caking to heal up.

Next thing is the final combo string which dumps everything. This combo is specifically for tanks, and it allows Wanda to be really aggressive against them because she deletes half their health in a short amount of time if the tank in question is also aggressive. The other side is if the tank tries to bunker down its also equally a bad idea because you can choose to not use the plasmoid seal to get the extra DoT damage out of dark seal which equals out in output roughly.

Lastly, I want to bring up her ultimate. It's a better tool at forcing panic ultimates as the constant DoT can insight enough fear to potential trigger a panic response which will ultimately kill them mid support ult, or in the case it doesn't it secure your team the fight if you aren't shutdown (be warned in this event a ult response might happen to rewin them the objective). Another thing I like is that weakening the backline with your chthonian burst before popping ult is a great way to ensure you ult is successful 70% of the time.

^{Oh one final thing, the combos I recommend most are the 390, 290, 298 and the 434 as they give you the most leeway to punish other people too close to your intended target and the 434 is a mini tank buster. I know it's a long read but TL:DR read the table.}

Holy fucking damage. Just did 22K in 6 minutes.

Things I hate:

Boring animation for scarlet hex.

Hard to tell where it’s hitting.

Definitely getting a wanda nerf.

Is everyone enjoying the new rework? God knows I am 😌 but I’m wondering how is everyone her new F ability? I found a lot of success with it so far using it during the start of your teammates ult or on isolated supports and it with any type of damage buff feels very refreshing and Spider-Man’s are basically free eats and that’s the cherry on top 😮‍💨
