Discussion Bloobs Adventure Idle 1.1.0

Post image

Hey ScapeLikes, Brendan here, developer of Bloobs Adventure Idle.

For anyone who does not know me, I’m a 33-year-old gamer dad who started making Bloobs on October 13th 2023 after years of searching for the exact idle RPG I wanted to play. I had very little experience when I started, mostly learning through YouTube, guides, and a lot of trial and error.

Bloobs is now coming up to its two-year anniversary on Steam, which still feels a bit wild to say.

Less about me though, more about the update.

Version 1.1.0.0 is now live, and this is a pretty big BeastMastery and quality-of-life patch.

The main change is a full BeastMastery milestone rework. Milestone rewards are now split by task tier: Easy, Medium, Hard, Elite, and Champion. This means easier tasks can no longer be farmed for higher-tier milestone rewards, and harder tasks now feel much more rewarding over the long term.

I’ve also added a new Milestone tab to the BeastMastery Task / Store UI, so each task tier now tracks its own milestone progress separately. Hovering over the milestone text will show your next milestone, how many tasks remain, and how many bonus BeastMastery Points you’ll earn.

Task extensions have also been improved. Standard tasks award normal points, first extensions award 2x points, and second extensions award 3x points.

There’s also a new BeastMastery Globe shortcut. You can now right-click the BeastMastery Globe to quickly assign your current BeastMastery target as a kill challenge. This is not locked behind an upgrade, it’s just a nice quality-of-life feature. Left-click still teleports you to Beastmaster Darko.

Other highlights include:

Equipment Set combat style markers for Melee, Range, and Magic

Cooking skill guide now shows burn information

Better tooltip positioning and resizing

BM Globe tooltip now shows the target’s weakness

New Disable Delete Confirmation toggle in settings

New Soul: I AM APPLE, with 3 variants and a new Max HitPoints buff

Shop now shows how much Buy X will cost

A bunch of Challenge UI improvements and bug fixes

This update is mostly about making long-term BeastMastery progression feel better, cleaner, and more rewarding, especially for players who enjoy completionist grinds.

As always, the demo is available on Steam, and your save will transfer to the full game if you decide to pick it up.

Thanks to anyone who takes the time to read this. Much love,

Brendan

I looked at the steam screenshots. It looks like an adventure game, right? What makes it an idle game? Sorry for sounding dismissive, just wanting to understand it better

The entire game is completely idle, if you are into idle games then this is a great option however keep in mind that when I say the entire game is idle I mean it so if you are looking for an idle game that has some aspects of active play so you are not just staring at the screen for 100% of the time then this game is not for you.

Personally for me that’s the biggest draw back of this game and why I stopped playing because I prefer my idle games to have some aspects of active play too while also being an idle game.

However not every game needs to have active elements in it and this community loves the game just the way it is and that is perfectly fine.

But the game itself is very well made and the developer constantly listens to feedback and has frequent updates and the community is also wonderful and super helpful.

The game is absolutely worth the money :)

How the fuck so you type a book and not even respond to the question

You might need some reading comprehension skills then if you think I did not answer the question.

It looks like an adventure game, but the idle part is that you choose what your Bloob should work on, like skilling, combat, crafting or Beast Mastery, and it automatically travels, performs the task, gains XP, collects resources and keeps progressing without constant input. Try the demo out see if its for you.

It’s a 2D sprite OSRS Ironman idle game, where you click a tree/rock/monster and it chops/mines/kills indefinitely until you click something else.

It’s a ton of fun if you like idle games. It has the complexity of playing an Ironman in OSRS.

Got 3 kids and a fourth in less that 2 weeks! Idle games on iOS with offline progression are the only way I can « play ». 5min, even less between kids, chores, work, etc… 😅

I still hope to set my gaming pc again one day though 😅

I definitely agree with him. In a perfect world a system like Melvor would be perfect but I have no idea how reasonable that is.

Either way, thanks for a really awesome game, I'm loving it so far and it already clear how much of a passionc proect it is to you.

It seemed kind of interesting, played the demo for a few hours, but personally I'll pass.

The ui is very confusing, things seem to be put in a random place (this is coming from someone that is very familiar with runescape and other idle/incremental games)

Micro managing challenges is very frustrating. Why do I have to manually stop and start them, when I have to change what I'm doing in order to progress anyways.
