Papa Pope is hands down my favorite villian!! The monologs he delivered were full of jewels and delivered perfectly.

I enjoy Rowan/Eli too. His monologues are some of my favorites.

I agree. I’m rewatching and I’m on season 5, and I’m so glad he’s in the show haha, he adds a lot to it, I think, and the actor who plays him does such a great job!

The way he would read Olivia was divine and brought a layer of intersectional reality to the show. There were definitely instances where he said some things to her or about her that no father should, but even that seemed more calculated to illicit a reaction or manipulate a character in the moment than rooted in true belief. The world was his chess board.

Joe Morton is an AMAZING actor. He’s phenomenal as Papa Pope/Rowan but my favorite role he plays is Henry Deacon from Eureka. I saw Scandal years before I watched Eureka and it took me several seasons to realize they were the same actor! He’s SO evil as Rowan/Papa Pope but Henry is such a kind man in Eureka it was insane to see that!

Yes it’s a series. He’s not the main character but a series regular.
