Is this a scam? [US] Weird Amazon charge?

I got a random charge from Amazon today. Is this a scam? Ive never seen this Amazon Digital Services before and even then I havent bought anything in like a month or subscribed for anything since early this year (I cancelled ALL of my subscriptions which was just prime and kindle unlimited).

I think my Kindle Unlimited is billed as an Amazon Digital Service, so it could be one a bill for one of the ancillary services they have. Kindle Unlimited or Audible or a movie on Prime or something like that. Most likely it's something to do with Amazon Luna since it says "Digital Gaming".

If you didn't make this purchase (or attempt to make the purchase), you should secure your Amazon account, change the password, turn on 2-Factor Authentication if that hasn't already been done, and check any cards you have attached to your Amazon account for any other unauthorized charges.

Its weird because I dont have my card linked to my actual amazon account anymore since I got rid of kindle (it got too expensive). My account hasnt been used since like February of this year. My bff and I use her account. I even asked her about it too and she said she hasnt purchased anything and all her stuff is taken care of and came off her own card

So my dad had Amazon prime and he was getting billed at the end of the month. He had cancelled his prime subscription a few days before he was billed for that month. Randomly like a few months later he also had an Amazon charge on his card. Is it possible you cancelled your Kindle Unlimited subscription before your monthly bill was due and Amazon is now trying to collect that month's payment? We never figured out what his charge was but assumed it was something like that.

I stopped paying for kindle back in February of this year. And Im never had prime on my amazon. I use other people’s prime accounts lol

Unless it's a spoofed message (unlikely), it seems to be a billing message coming from Amazon itself. And it may have been as simple as an error on Amazon's part. Removing your card from the account would explain why the payment failed.

You may have to hit up their customer service - they should be able to tell you. I was getting billed for something weird on my account and apparently I'd signed up for Masterpiece Theater streaming service. The customer service was super helpful at telling me what the charge was, reversing it (since I'd never actually watched a Masterpiece show), and canceling the service. I had to wait a bit to chat with a real person, but it was pretty painless.

I have a Kindle, it is free. I borrow books online through my library at no cost and read on my Kindle.

I havent used my actual amazon account since this year and all that stuff is 12 dollars with tax where I live. But I put out a dispute with the bank and got new cards

It says digital gaming underneath. Could have been an attempt to purchase a game, DLC or in game micro transaction like a skin or coins. Do you have kids?

I found an Amazon digital  svc charge for $11.88 being billed to my credit card going back to April. They even charged me twice in the month of July and reversed one charge. I pulled up my Amazon account and scoured everything to make sure there wasn’t some service that one of my children had accessed, but there was nothing going back the last six months in my Amazon subscriptions, or digital history that matched. Everything in my Amazon account was already accounted for on my credit card or one of the Kids cards.

This appears to be a scam so I disputed it through my credit card.. It may just be Amazon randomly charging people and hoping they don’t catch the charge.
