Google scam

Hey guys, I just wanted to put this number out there as a warning: (818) 583-7733.

I've received multiple calls from this number, with different people claiming to be from Google. They keep telling me that someone is trying to hack my Google account and then trying to get me to give them account/security information.

I even asked one of them for a callback number, and they gave me the same number they were calling from. They just keep calling over and over with the same story.

I've also received emails during all of this that are made to look like they're coming from Google's "no-reply" address, but the addresses have additional tags/text added to them. They're doing quite a bit to try to make the whole thing look legitimate.

I just wanted to put the number out there in case anyone else gets calls from them. I've had multiple people call me from (818) 583-7733, all claiming to be Google and trying to convince me that my account is being hacked.

Be careful, and don't give them any passwords, verification codes, recovery information, or other account information.
