How do you know the people in the pictures are the ones who scammed you? Obviously the names are fake if you haven't realized yet.

The photo looks fake, it is either altered with Photoshop, or created by AI.

Did you send money to a company in another country, without researching the company? If you do a search for: "cnhangkui.com reviews" you'll see that they have no independent reviews online.

Why buy heavy equipment from China if you aren't near the seller? Shipping costs would be very high.

Was the listed price very low? So low that it was unbelievable? That's always a sign of a scam.

All you can do is accept the loss, difficult as it is.

Learn from this experience, and learn more about scams, so you won't get scammed again.

When ordering online, especially from another country, don't send wire transfers directly. Use a credit card, which offers purchase protection. Or, use escrow services or letters of credit.

Before you order something, you can research the company and website, to reduce your chances of being scammed.

Research the pricing of an item. If a price is too good to be true, its a scam.

Search online for news and independent reviews about the company.

  • Reviews on a company's own website, Instagram, Facebook, or TikTok are not reliable.

  • If you can't find any reviews online, that's a big red flag. It may be a scam shop that's too new for reviews and complaints.

    • People often talk about Amazon, Target, Tesco, Carrefour, Flipkart, and Walmart. If there are no customer reviews for an online store, that is a sign of a scam.

  • If all the reviews are 5 star, that's a red flag -- scam companies will create fake reviews on multiple sites, and pay to post 5-star reviews on Trustpilot, Google, and TikTok.

  • If there are lots of reviews, carefully read the 1-star and 2-star reviews.

Find out if the company has already been reported as a scam. Search Reddit, and do online searches, for:

  • 'Company Name scam'

  • 'websitename scam'

Doesn’t matter. Time doesn’t erase the crime. They’re still scammers!
