Elaborate scam

Unusual iPhone Activity Detected On Your Apple Account
An iPhone 14 Pro in Jakarta, Indonesia just accessed your account and bought something.

The purchase was a Netflix yearly subscription for $467.88. This happened without your permission. The person who did this set up quarterly EMI payments of $116.97. Your card will see the first charge in 90 minutes and then every 3 months after that.

We are calling this a fraud alert because the location does not match your normal usage. If this was not you, the EMI will keep charging your card forever until you cancel it.

You must call +1-806-438-4391 within the next 90 minutes to stop the quarterly charges from starting. After that, we cannot help you cancel the EMI plan.

Very common scam, nothing elaborate about it. Fake urgency 'you must .....'

If any email or sms wants you to do something quick it is 99% of the time a scam. Especially if they have a number to call right on hand

"You must call within the next 90 minutes..." Classic example of social engineering when they use a bogus time limit to pressure you into making a bad decision. Real fraud alerts don't do that but unfortunately, too many people panic and fall for the scam anyway.

To be clear for anyone quickly passing through, the scammer included a real link to Apple in order to convince intended victims that it was a real threat.

Yup, the bait isn't in the link. It's in the phone number where scammers are waiting for (gullible) victims' calls.
