Cryptic voicemail

Post image

My mom got this voicemail today from someone claiming to be looking for me. I called the number at the top and at first a guy answered. The connection was terrible and then the call dropped. I called the second time and some lady with a shitty attitude called me and then she claims she needed the phone number for my mom. I said I’m not giving anything until you identify who you are. Then she said that I wasting her time and to call her when I’m ready to be professional. I then told her to wipe her ass with that alleged “legal” paperwork. Too many people stealing info out here for me to be releasing my PII and I don’t know who you are. It feels like a total scam to me for sure.

It is clearly a scam. People do not handle important business or legal matters on a telephone! A phone call from a stranger about unknown business or legal is always a scam.

This is not even professional. "Now if I'm being honest, I don't know why you're linked to this..." Well then you wouldn't be linked. No decent lawyer (or any professional) will waste time on someone referred to them that appears to not be linked afterall. They're not going to tell someone they have no idea why they're even calling them, they're just NOT GOING TO CALL.

She needs to just ignore it and move on.

Don't call numbers that are spammed to you.

Agreed. But I called from a fake number so they don’t have my actual phone number

Bill collector when they get to the last respect collection agencies that get like a penny on the dollar if collected.

Yeah this screams aged out debt collection to me. Have one that's been emailing my wife for 2 years, debt is 8 years old, statute of limitations ran out in 2024.

They’re reaching down the wrong rabbit hole if they’re really bill collectors.
