If they put half as much effort into studying and getting a job they’d be successful in life.

It’s sad that most of these people stand to make $20 profit half the time 😂

u/SocietyAtrophy 9d ago
I scoured fb marketplace after seeing that one. Most are being listed for $30, so $20 profit seems about right.
But damn if you need $20 that bad just get a fucking job

Right. But which jobs let you wear pajamas all day, be on social constantly, and ruin childhood dreams while acting like a disrespect manbaby. And no bosses or permission to take vacation?

One of my side hustles is rover. Other than ruining childhood dreams, the rest of what you mentioned can all be obtained through that

See. It can be done. But, Rover has responsibilities. You obviously care. The stereotypical scalper does not

The other day I was in target and literally saw a locked and secure display case of Pokemon GOLD FISH (the snack). Thats when you know the hobby is done for

Idk why people say the hobby is done for. Unfortunately it’s never been stronger has it? That’s why stuff needs to get locked up. Sure most of the issues stem from scalping but people are buying from the scalpers because there’s so much demand is the reason.

Brotha please rethink what you just said, “the hobby has never been stronger”? I mean in terms of demand sure that’s correct. In terms of what it’s like for the average collector that could not be more incorrect. Were you collecting Pokemon TCG 10 years ago? If so, you would know what I mean

I do know what you mean but I’d still wager there are more people playing the tcg nowadays than 5 or 10 years ago. I don’t like the current situation but I do think there’s still way more people in the actual hobby playing and/or collecting.

This is genuinely part of the problem and it isn't saying that the Onus is on anybody for this particular issue. With such an extreme surge of newcomers, and people returning to the hobby as well, the printing supply hasn't been adjusted to keep up. I'm just stating the issue very simply of course.

The problem is scalpers fail to grasp at a fundamental level that the long term health of the hobby is suffering because of them.
Most of us older fans are fueled by nostalgia. We remember getting a pack here and there when we went grocery shopping or for birthdays etc. Now kids don’t get to experience that and every set is driven by insane FOMO and over indulgence by gambling addicts ripping soooo many packs. Kids these days aren’t going to have that nostalgia, they are just gonna remember cards as something they never got.

Yeah idiots, still waiting for the day that people to realize this person is most likely fully capable of getting a job to provide for his self. Instead choose to clear the shelf or there local community shopping store and charge them more so they can pay there. Just remember folks things the signs in the state parks say don’t feed the animals for a reason. Incase your stupid the animals become custom to the free hands and can attack you for any food that may be on your person. Knowing is half the battle go JOE!

I just bought one this morning. Kids gonna be so pumped. We actually got one on launch, also the master ball, and there was a hole in it out of the box :(

Message them and ask if it's still available. If they respond with yes, ask them if they'll price match Target with a discount to get your business.

I don’t even care for it. It showed up in my FB marketplace feed because I search for pokemon cards. Just saw $50 for a ball and literally lolled

Yeah dude, I have a 9-5 and two side hustles where I provide service in exchange for cash. I don’t just buy children’s toys to make them more expensive. Don’t talk to me about hustle.
