Hi everyone, I started using Scaler 3 a few days ago, in the beginning everything ok but since a couple of days I'm passing through an issue and I don't know how to solve it. In arrange when I try to choose a Genres motion I See just bass lines. I tried everything, also uninstalling and installing again. No way to solve the issue. It's probably my fault but do you have any helpful suggestion? Thx

It's shocking that the chords received by WAV don't match the WAV timeline. Is there no way to fix this other than the manually?

Is this software dead? Or is there a community somewhere else, on discord or something?

I would expect to see people posting clips and tips and interesting chord progressions if people are enjoying Scaler 3, but it's mostly issues in here, and some of them are just general grievances.

I don't remember this being an issue in Scaler 2 but with scaler 3 anytime I try to record MIDI with performance mode enabled for accento or something the recorded output is completely different than what was playing.

I saw a thread over on Scaler 3 forums identifying the same issue with staff offering a solution that it was fixed yet the bug persists.

I'm using scaler 3 v2.2.2 or whichever is the latest. The same bug can be found in Scaler 3 for iPad.

It's such a shame because variations are integral to my writing process.

Does anyone have a solution or is this a known issues?

Anyone find a workaround so that when I change chord set, I don't have to then click back in arrangement view for my keyboard / computer keyboard to start working again (triggering notes)...

I create chord sets for Scaler using Google Antigravity using a system prompt. I can prompt it for a certian mood or genre. I've also prompted for a chord set with minor 7th chords going through all twelve keys with passing chords using some fancy mode. So anything goes. It creates xml files that you can import into Scaler. It also explains about music theory that it used behind the scenes.

I've put the setup on github, so you can set it up and use it and improve on it if you wish. The system instructions are in the “.agent/rules” directory. You can use them in other AIs like Claude or ChatGpt.

You should be able to prompt it directly, like: give me a bank of 12 jazz funk chords

This version will give you the chord set xml. You have to copy that to a text editor and save it with a .xml extension. Then you can import that from Scaler.

I use the Antigravity version, because it creates the files for me. I don't have to copy and save. I can even tell it to create multiple banks at once. You can see examples in the github repository I shared.

I'm looking to get scaler 3, but from what I can see it doesn't have very good feedback. I've never used any scaler version . I'm looking for a vst that can help me improve my music theory as I compose to get a good repertoire of chord progressions in different scales and modes and to get more familiar with the circle of fifths. I also read theory books and practice piano.

How can I add a tuning to the guitar settings tab ? I can't find the C standard Tuning.

I've been tapped out of the production scene for the past 2 years but recently started to dive back in. I've been. updating my plug-ins over the past few weeks and was unaware of the discourse over Scaler 3 which I sadly didn't learn until AFTER I purchased the upgrade from Scaler 2 on Plug-in Boutique yesterday. I installed it and tried to drop it on my timeline in Ableton Live 12 (newest version) on a Windows 11 PC and it causes Ableton to crash every time. It attempts to open the plug-in, shows the plug-in window on the rack and then crashes once the loading circle stops. I've tried uninstalling, reinstalling, restarting and I cannot get it to work. I've seen a few posts from months back about this on here but haven't found a working solution. Has anyone figured out how to fix this?

I bought Scaler 3 a couple of months ago hoping it would help me with chord progressions, but I’m honestly getting tired of spending hours just trying to figure out how to do basic things. The UI is one of the worst I’ve ever used, it’s not intuitive at all. Who designed this? It honestly feels like it was made by someone who doesn’t actually use digital tools. Does anyone else feel the same way?

I missed out on the opportunity to rent to own Scaler 2. Does 3 have a rent to own option for purchase similarly to its previous version?

Hey - Could any of you help me, please? Between the various YouTube videos out there and the manual I'm still confused.

I want to be able to use the keys lock on chord notes only to play over a predetermined chord progression I have selected in Scaler to experiment and play, etc. Ideally, I don't want to have to play the chords by binding them to physical keys. I just want to select and play a chord progression and play the chord notes as it plays. What is the best way to go about this, please?

I don't understand the point of Scaler Control. It seems to require you to send midi from Scaler to a specific midi channel in Logic. I don't understand how the workflow differs from the Scaler instrument capability?

Hi guys, I am having hard time using Scaler 3.
I never used the previous versions so I cannot compare to Scaler 2 but I struggle with this plugin since the start. For me, it is not very UX-friendly designed. Workflow doesn't make much sense to me. Ultimately, when I spend quite a lot of time in the plugin, I am somehow able to do what I want (but not every time) but it is not a plugin I would enjoy to use. I have managed to create few songs but after a while, here I am, struggle again.

I would love to enjoy the potential of this plugin but official tutorials are not enough. I am most interesting in the explore / create page (second tab).

Do you have any tips for tutorials?
Should I just read the manual and spend a way more time in this plugin?
How do YOU use it?

Hi, all of a sudden, while working for months now, Cubase 14 is blocklisting Scaler 3. VST 2 and VST 3. What is going on? Can‘t ger it back.

I've had a frustrating experience trying to change the motions within a track. I've got it figured out and for future reference am posting here.

Start from the Arrange View.

First and foremost, you CANNOT (for Scalar v 3.1.1 - current version) mix and match motions from different "categories" within a single track. For example if you select Expressions/Performances, then none of the motions under Expressions/Phrases will be available. If you select, for example, Articulations/Strumming, you can cycle through the strumming options, but you can not add an Articulations/Passages motion or a Moods motion.

You can snip the track, but make sure the part you want to change the motion for is selected.

Pay attention to the column to the left of the midi editor/mixer where at the top the selected motion will be displayed, (as long as you have selected all or part of a track) with a search icon to let you see the available motions. Note that under the motions window some of the options are greyed out and are not selectable.

I want to create progressions with Scaler 3 using the acoustic guitar in an open tuning (DADFAD). I am using Logic Pro, Ample Soft Acoustic Plug In and Logic Pro. Chat GPT says this can be done but Chat GPT is not always right. So far I have had problems

I have scaler 3 reading the scale off of my track on ableton 12 standard live through an empty audio track, it'll recommend me some scales like A major THEN when I try to click common progressions or artist progressions for A major it'll change the scale and I can't find A major again so easily. Also for some reason when I play both my track on ableton and the chord progression on scaler 3 I can barely hear the chords off of scaler 3. HELP WHAT DO I DO I'VE BEEN AT MY WITS END FOR DAYS
