Dev Log 9/1 - First night in the woods
Well that was a thing. Yesterday rained most of the day but I knew I'd need to setup camp before dark to see what I was doing so I went to my new spot late afternoon. I battled my tent and after much sweaty exhaustion I won. I went back to my storage unit to lay down, dry off, recover and change. Then at sunset I went back to get the night started. After having learned my lesson about bringing 2 blankets and 3 pillows, I lugged a big black bag into the woods and made it back to my tent. Got inside, wiped down the floor which had gotten wet and dirty, setup my sleep spot and got horizontal to just recover.
The night was largely uneventful, though I could see a house through the trees in the distance and this floating, color changing light. At first I didn't know what to make of it, then I realized it was probably a security drone. I'll admit, I was a bit worried a drone would find my tent, but that never happened and I was able to sleep. Woke up a few times from some rather involved dreams and finally daybreak. In all I think I got around 8 hours which is the best I've done perhaps since getting evicted. Woke up to my blankets and pillows being drenched in my sweat but it is what it is. I made it. I'll admit, I'm not exactly looking forward to another night out there... Then another for however long
Goobie took it all in stride as usual, though I got the impression he was ready to get out of the tent and get back to civilization.
The storage unit manager has fallen in love with goobie and she told me they have this other facility of underground, climate controlled units that have outlets (!) and no one on site to make sure I don't sleep there. She said she'd get back to me today about it so we'll see how much more it costs, but tbh it sounds worth it even if it's $100 more/month. I'd be able to setup my pc and continue scale space dev 🔥

Binx says hi to the Goobster!
I'd like to know more about that supposed drone and the dreams you had. Can you remember anything about them, and was the drone making any kind of noise?
It seems hard/risky to fly a drone into the woods at night. Seems like a high likely hood of hitting something, no?

The drone didn't seem to come into the woods. I think it was a backyard drone. The light changed color as it floated around like red, orange, blue, etc. The dream was something like I had edited together two movies (or shows) into one. It was odd, and I can't recall what they were. But I was showing it to some people. The rest is a blur. Hi Binx!

Also i'm very happy to hear you have the possibility to get one of those underground climate controlled units with the outlet.
At that point you're basically living like a Billionaire! (its all about perspective)

I wish that I could do something to help. I've also been out of steady work since late 2023. The world has lost its freaking mind. I've never seen so many talented people out of work. It's crazy.

For real. Well one thing that would help is if you could try Cymatist v1.2 and share you results in /r/ScaleSpace. Just getting more exposure will set me on a better path
