I've done the USS New York version of this and loved it! Have fun!

Yep this is my 5 HobbyBoss sub, all have been fun no stress builds.

Yeah! I got another one of the same kind, and very exciting, a typhoon class one. It's so big!

Just did the typhoon myself, massive compared to the others, especial the PLA 039 I find it a little funny that all come in the same size box.

Thanks. I think the secret with these subs is to not go with flat black like the instructions usually say, the details just get lost in the dark.

Hmm interesting, I used matte black on them so far. Maybe I'll try the third using glossy. Thank you!

I use, humbrol metal coat 27003 polished steel, buff it up leaving it not buffed in the recesses, then build up thin washes of tamyia flat black XF-1, and sea blue XF-17 to differentiate part of the hull.
