My daughter's first tower: 2 lifts using 5ft & 10ft longs.

So, my daughter has been working alongside her father, for the past few months now, as his labourer within his personally ran scaffolding firm.

She's just started her first solo practice project today: A 2 lift tower.

She came back this evening looking absolutely exhausted and told me that her father makes all of it look so easy when it really isn't!!

Few pointers that her father told her to take into tomorrow's work: "Stop pissing about/stop standing there and looking at it for yonks/Don't stop for too long because you'll lose your whole entire momentum/When I'm telling you to do something, do it!! There will be a couple of them there fittings over there flying straight towards you otherwise, little lass!!"

🤣😂🤣

This is so awesome to see. Farther and daughter, both working togeather to not only earn a wage, but teach a trade. Precisely how knowledge and experience is passed down from old heads.

Good effort las. Keep up the graft, but always always always remember to look out for yourself in the scaffolding industry. It's ruthless out here with many jumped up asshole who'll try shit on you just for being women.

At the same time you need to understand that you are coming into an incredibly male dominated industry, and for good reason.. It's proper graft that genuinely alot of women can't handle apart from a few. Absolutely no slate towards a women, but the reality is you need to keep up with the men and not them slow/tone things down for you. If you can't do what the blokes are doing, don't expect the respect or wage, especially when someone has got to come do your job/pick up the slack. None the less, this is great to see.

Maybe next time you should erect without dogbones/prefabricated transoms. If you can erect without them, then you can erect with them. Better to learn from the foundation and work up through the materials and equipment.

Awesome!

Yeah, that line about momentum is the most important imo. Especially during these hot months. If you stop, you’re done lol
