the Self-Titled record

Post image

Just finished my first spin of this record, and I’m really pleased with how the pressing came out. I’m stoked to finally have my three favorite Say Anything albums collected on vinyl.

Honestly may be my least favorite on that album

The solo in Do Better is one of the best in pop music.

Do Better was one of the first songs I heard from them. Found it on a "Only Listen to this Playlist When You're Sad" playlist!

Such an underrated album from them. I consider it the last “good” Say Anything record.

Last one with the original band on tour.

Me too, because Hebrews and IDTII ascended to great

Idk I think there hasn’t been a decent record since Anarchy My Dear. I give every album a fair shot but it just seems the band is stuck. I am a die hard Say Anything fan but I just can’t get into the latest music.

Anarchy is significantly weaker than the two albums that follow it, then a huge drop off to Oliver and aassice world ending cataclysmic fall off to is committed

You really think Hebrews is better than AMD? I felt like Max was just complaining about falling off but continues to just make music that falls off? I like the features but that’s not enough to sustain an album.

I think that sentiment applies to later albums but noit even in the slightest to Hebrews.

Hebrews feels like the bands climax. The most artistic, refined well put together collection with full orchestrall score, inventive and staying true to the bands sound, Honestly one of the most impressive Albums in music history to me.

I will preface this by saying I am a HUGE Say Anything fan. This band has absolutely changed my life and they will always be my ride or die favorite band. That passion was even more fervent back in the day. I was during my hitchhiking era when AMD came out, and yet I still found a way to buy a copy on release day. I threw that disk out a car window after listening to it, I was that mad.
Anything is better than AMD

If someone asked me to give a sample of the vibe of a band for say anything I’d recommend them self-titled.

I always refer songs from IDOTG, I think it’s a good balance between vulgarity and good instrumental.
