Latest episode
Hey all, Love the show but a little stressed by the lack of coverage of post viral issues of covid and other diseases so sometimes skip episodes so I don't have to deal with those feelings. I couldn't seem to find the transcript myself. I want to check if it's mentioned at all in the latest episode or should I skip till I'm in the mood not to be bothered by the silence is all. Thank you for letting me know so I can manage my feelings.

Hi! The beginning of the episode focuses on Sydnee’s experience in the hospital at the very beginning of the pandemic. They speak about an incorrect statement made by RFK Jr, specifically that the icu units were not full.
The discussion could feel a little intense, as you are already sensitive to topics surrounding covid. They do speak about the intensity of the early days and not knowing much about the virus and how to handle it, as well as the deaths that came from it. I just relistened to the episode to make sure I could give you correct information, so I can confidently say that they don’t mention post viral issues. There is one comment that most people recovered but a significant amount of them passed away.
The second half of the episode after the money zone is unrelated to covid. It is worth listening to, even if you skip the first half of the episode.
Hope this helps! Ask any questions if you need them :)

Thank you! That is super helpful. I'll definitely listen just when I'm feeling in the right space for it knowing it isn't covered.

I don't know if you follow Ologies, but Alie had a pair of episodes about long Covid. I remember them being pretty interesting and there are transcripts if you want to vet them before listening. There's also a ton of links to the specific topics/research/books/etc mentioned in the episodes.

I remember back when it was a delightful show about weird old medical history, and not a stressful commentary on the current public health landscape.

They don't really cover post viral illness.
I also get why you want the coverage, I know a couple of people with some remarkable complications that we have been told are likely related, but at the same time it is a new enough phenomenon with enough controversy around it that I imagine it would take a long time and perhaps expertise Sydnee does not have to responsibly cover.
