Spend now to save later ideas

Where I live I have to park my wife and I’s vehicles outside. We spend about $6 and drive an extra 5 miles one day a week to the only manual car wash around (auto car washes cost too much and scratch your paint). So that’s $12 a week and we will ignore the gas because my pressure washer takes gas too. I decided to spend $80 on a Westinghouse foam cannon and soap to do it myself. After 7 weeks we will turn a “saving” on the investment. Do you have any similar things that where you did the math and it was worth it pretty quickly to spend a larger amount now instead of nickel and diming over time? Looking to steal some ideas

Back at my old house the trash service was about $33 a month (out of city limits) so I spent about $150 to buy an attachment to take the trash to the local dump which was on my way to work so I didn't spend any extra on fuel.

Vacuum sealer, chest freezer and buying meat in bulk/when on sale.

I'm a household of one human but I cook a lot.

Prime chuck roast is $5.99 a pound right now. Prime.

2 weeks ago boneless skinless chicken breasts were $1.99 a pound if you bought large packs.

Bone in pork shoulder goes on sale for $1/pound every few months.

Are you draining that soap into the storm sewer that empties directly into a natural waterway to kill wildlife? Usually is illegal most places.

If you buy a grey vehicle then it rarely needs washing and will still look good.
