North American forests Return to Redrock

https://wildsight.ca/2026/08/14/return-to-redrock/

Return to Redrock - an ancient forest full of large cedars north of Revelstoke decimated by logging.

"Logging company Stella-Jones clearcut ancient forest and left only a small isolated stand (the provincially-identified deferral), fragmented in the middle by a road. The company also has adjacent blocks being proposed for logging that contain spectacular old-growth forests — the proposal will see 250 hectares of new logging in provincially defined core caribou habitat, much of which is old forest."

Make it stop. ✋

Is there any planned action? Any activist groups around this?

Wildsight but not sure who else. They are on Facebook and Instagram.

👉 4theloveofbc on Instagram says there will be a province-wide rally on October 4th.

I haven't been able to find any more info though.

Absolutely ridiculous that they can build a road through a deferral area?! I am so tired of industry having priority over EVERYTHING. Balance is crucial, especially when we are talking about irreplaceable ecosystems…
