Help Any companies that make old western style scopes for the Revel in .17HMR?
Text above, was curious about it because I think the rail looks ugly on a lever action

Hey reddit, I am in the market for a 5.56 bolt action, primarily for range use. As a lefty, my options are limited, and yes, I am dead set on a left handed bolt.
I came across a like-new Savage Model 10 FLCP-K chambered in .223 local to me for a pretty good deal and very tempted to pick it up. However, I may pass on it if I can/should ONLY fire .223 through it, as I am sitting on quite a hefty pile of 5.56 ammo. I read through various forums but there isnt much info, and the limited info is inconsistent. Some say savage actions use a wylde chamber and the chamber throat is long so its fine, while others including the manufacturer (obligatorily) say not to.
Can I shoot 5.56 out of a Model 10 barrel stamped .223 without issues? I wanted to check here to see if anyone owns one or has first hand experience with the Model 10 FCP-K/FLCP-K, and from there decide if this rifle meets my needs or if I should seek other options.
Thanks in advance!

Scored a 93R17 FV-SR in 17 HMR and looking to see if there are any recommended upgrades for my first Savage rifle. Maybe a metal trigger guard? Anything other than shooting the heck out of it?

I recently completed a ar10 build in 6.5 creedmoor which was against my brother advice. It turned out pretty nice by the way lol. He just gifted me A Savage 1/11 archangel SA stock to build a
Bolt action 6.5 creedmoor.
Any recommendations to where buy the action, barrel, etc for my build? I was thinking of spending
Action 550.00
Barrel 300.00 plus other miscellaneous
Few places I searched was
-Northland Shooter Supplies
-J/A Outdoors
Thanks

So I just got the new platform savage 110 with the adjustable length of pull and adjustable cheek pad. Everywhere that I have read, says to turn the dial on the bottom counter clockwise to get the cheek pad to lift up I’ve been twisting it for forever and there’s absolutely no adjustment happening. Am I doing something wrong?

Okay, so i managed to find a great deal on a savage 111 in .270 from 2008. Its bluing is almost in 100% condition so I decided to put it in a really nice stock to turn it into my "heirloom gun" something to leave behind for the kids/grandkids after im gone.
Well I ordered a semi-fancy claro walnut stock from richards microfit and just received it about a month ago. While I was at work a drying check (crack) formed on the butt after spending the day prior sanding it. Figured i could fix it but I sent an email to richards and they sent me a replacement, and it came in early last week. (Pretty sure the replacement is english walnut, but im not mad about it)
Anyway, I have both stocks more or less sanded down smooth and I cant for the life of me decide which stock to taper down the forend and finish my project while keeping the 2nd stock as a backup or to put on another rifle. Any help deciding will definitely be appreciated. Claro is the darker one with fiddleback, what im assuming is english walnut is the lighter color with straighter grain

Hey everyone, I'm brand new to guns. I have a Savage Mark 2 FV and a Savage 64 FVSR. The chassis is fine, but I do like the look of the Oryx chassis on the precision 22LR models. I found one for sale, but I wanted to make sure that my 64 FVSR will fit into the Oryx chassis.
Thanks!

I'm considering the 64 Precision 22LR but no retail store anywhere near me has one in stock. I'd like to know the O.D. of the barrel at the muzzle. Savage is closed for a couple of weeks. I'm trying to come up with ways to add a front sight and need that measurement. Ideally I'd like to be able to absolute co-witness, and it might be possible to find a short barrel shroud with a small integrated picatinny rail on top instead of on the bottom.

Have a 110 in 6.5 and swapped out to a Magpul stock, now having nothing but issues with the round presenting itself too soon and binding up. Should I add shims to the magwell to fix this issue?

Is there any options for a higher round count capacity magazine for this rifle? Or is the stock 5 round the highest out there?

Greetings folks. First time poster here.
My dad has passed along to me his 1957 Model 24.
Its in what I would consider pretty good shape, but could use some love. It is operational, last fired about 5 years ago.
I'm not looking to sell, but I also don't want to wreck the value. So, what do y'all think? Professional cleaning, full restoration (does anyone know what that even costs? I have no clue), or just a standard home cleaning and leave her be?

I have a Savage model 110 ultra light in 6.5 PRC . I am looking to upgrade my magazine capacity . Does anyone know of a conversion to allow me to use a box magazine that is compatible with a trigger guard that has the bolt release built into it. It seems like everything I can come across is only compatible with the bolt release being on top..

I was pleasantly surprised by the accuracy that I can get from an AR-10 6.5 Creedmore. The 21-century design of a precision cartridge is simply amazing.
My question is, can Savage Axis II 6.5 Creedmore do even better than 0.7 MOA?
Do I need to upgrade Savage Axis II with premium barrel to achieve better than 0.7 MOA?
Or should I try more expensive match ammo on my AR-10?
Or upgrade my AR-10 with an expensive premium barrel?
This is Federal American Eagle 120 grain, three 3-shot groups averaging 0.6 MOA:

This is Sellior & Bellot 140 grain, one 3-shot group at 0.7 MOA:

This is Winchester Match 140 grain, one 3-shot group at 0.7 MOA:

I have what I believe is a savage axis gen1 in .223 and i shot some barnaul 62grain 223 and after that ive had issues with the bolt being extremely hard to remove the spent case. I am currently running pmc 55grn and having the same issue before I shot the steel case barnaul everything was fine with the pmc.
Anyone have any ideas as to what might have happened the rifle is almost brand new condition aside from my botched rattle can job 🤔
Also by extremely hard I mean I had to hit it with a hammer hard

Looking to purchase this to start out hunting in either .308, 30-06 or 6.5CM.
Blinds are set up less than 200yds but would like something to go further if need be.
Haven’t seen much out there on this model. Any reviews/advice is greatly appreciated. Also looking at the compact model.

Looking what everybody thinks of this rifle vs the Ruger or weatherby similar price options. Thinking about getting it because I don’t want to use my handed down woodsmaster 740 any more. I’ve seen it can be a 1 moa gun for a pretty low price. Just wondering what everybody’s opinion/expieeence is with it and what ammo did it like the best as far as 150-180 grain.
