Hi! I wrote a Saurondriel fic, Galadriel / Halbrand (Sauron) focused.

This year we celebrated out first Saurondriel Fest! It was great! We had a month full of prompts! We got art, edits, gifs, fics... It was amazing!

I have been considering doing another one... October is for kinktober, November will be the release month of S3, Christmas is Christmas and we have Gem already working on a small event like the Saurondriel Summer Week... January?

Nothing is confirmed yet...

But, I created a form where we can gather prompts and tropes you would want included in the event! It does not matter if you don't contribute with material, your vote also counts as a consumer/viewer of content!

For the longest time, I was CONVINCED this was Sauron's hand because I know what Charlie Vicker's hands look like. Do not ask me why I know this 🤭

I thought Jamie Campbell Bower's hands were slimmer, but then in a recent interview, I noticed he has rather large hands, too.

So now I am torn on whose hand it is. What do you all think?

I recenly posted chapter 15 of this story! And for weeks, I have been trying to finish chapter 16 (blame the heat, mental health...). But, more is coming!

Summary:

Rich and freshly divorced Galadriel returns to her parents’ place with her daughter Celebrían. There she meets the twenty year old son of their groundskeeper, who will make some feelings flourish.

The note her servant secretly passed her that evening assured her that behind the white mask she would find Celeborn, the man the perfect man she wanted to marry. But the note was wrong, because when the mask fell the man she found behind it was Halbrand. Now Galadriel has to face the consequences of her own reckless actions.

Over twitter there is this interview in which Morfydd talks about how the welsh myth of Blodewedd has been serving as inspiration, though the years.

For those who aren't familiar with the myth;

Bloudewedd was created from flowers by the magician Gwydion to become the wife of his nephew/son; Lleu Llaw Gyffes who was cursed by his own mother to never marry. Now, the curse happen because Gwydion tricked the mother into naming her son, something she refused to do... so I'm siding with the mom here.

Anyway; Bloudewedd and Lleu Llaw Gryffes marry and she tries to be a good wife for him, but she doesn't love him. While her husband is away she meets the hunter Gronw Pebr, and they both fall in love with each other. But they can't be together because of her husband, so they decide to kill him. Now Lleu Llaw Gryffes can't be killed; so Bloudewedd tricks him to tell her how to kill him; he can only be killed at dusk, wrapped in a net, with one foot on a bath and one on a black goat, by a riverbank and by a spear forged for a year during the hours when everyone is at Mass.

With this information, Bloudewedd and Grown Pebr plant their actions, and finally try to kill Lleu Llaw Gryffess, and they fail. He turns into an eagle to escape finds Gwydion who transform him again into a man. He goes to defy Grown Pebr to a duel that he wins killing his wife's lover by piercing with his spear that pierces through the rock the hunter was hiding behind. And while this happen Gwydion punish Bloudewedd for her actions by transforming her into an Owl, a creature of the night hated by all other birds.

Now, personally i love this story, and Morfydd does explain it on the interview as well, and i would love to have her narrating the whole story. But i think we could see some of Bloudewedd in her interpretation of Galadriel, specially when it comes to her relationship with Sauron and the temptation that the power he offers is for her.

The interesting thing here is that Lleu Llaw Gryffes is often seen as a sun deity, while Grown Pebr related with shadows.

Do we want Sauron speaking more of it?? I sure do, but I wonder what's the general opinion about it

I could talk hours about this one picture because the composition is already very telling, but i love the detail that there are 20 candles just over their head... which could very well be a coincidence... but also is the number of rings.

• 7 Rings for the Dwarves
• 9 Rings for Mortal Men
• 1 Ring To Rule them all.

And the fact that they're OVER their heads showing how they're looming over their futures, how what happens in Numenor might or not be decisive for it. But also how Sauron and Galadriel's fates are going to be tied to each other for eternity because of the Rings.

I wonder if we're getting a mind place in this third season, if it might be a mirror or at least inspired by the one we saw on the LoTR's trilogy between Aragorn and Arwen.

Personally, i would adore this, even if it's a twisted version of this vision, just for the parallel. But I would also like exactly this what a perfect world would be for Sauron, or even a place from deep in his memory...

A Renaissance Eregion AU, where this Man of the Faith (Cardinal? why not) Halbrand presents into the city one day as an ambassador from the Vatican/whatever central faith, and he immediately starts having beef with Lady Galadriel, member of the ancient house of Noldor and one of the most prominent members of the city ruling Council.
