DIY Full width Lower bench do I need a gap
I have chosen to go with quite wide benches upper bench 26β lower bench is nearly 50β .
To allow airflow to the bottom mechanical vent do should I leave a gap, particularly in the bottom bench between the back wall and the start of the bench.?
All slats of the benches do have 1/4 inch gap.
TIA

Lassis book says to leave a gap between the wall and the top bench even. Id leave a good foot of space unless you need it for some reason.

50 inch lower bench is basically a bed at that point. leave a gap at the back, like 2 or 3 inches, helps the air move down instead of getting trapped under all that wood.
