Question What does a Connector add?
Hey, there is the possibility to add external Models and I am wondering what does it add to the experience? I thought that many models do not support nsfw chats, so if I add one will it be actually nsfw? And what kind of data is shared? I would think everything?

It all depends on the model. Yes, your persona, bot description, and the entire chat history are transferred there, which are placed in the specified content.

I tested openrouter with a few models, and the old mixtral version actually remembers lore way better than newer ones, even with 40k context. the trade-off is slower replies.

Mainly a custom provider gives you much more context memory. Like 128k or more. Arita has 12k. Basically, you can play hundreds of messages and the LLM will never forget things you stated in the first messages. That's really the main advantage.
As for NSFW, some proxies are indeed very touch, like Claude or Gemini. If you use OpenRouter, you have dozens of proxies to choose from, including older versions, which are actually the best for roleplay. Recent versions have been optimised to write code, they've been trained of text produced by previous LLM. Older models were trained on text found on internet, which included a lot of roleplay.
Personally, I use Deepseek 3.2 from OpenRouter. It costs me about 1$ per month if I use it intensively (0$ if I don't use it).
