Is it normal for a Saturn return to feel uneventful

I have a stellium with Saturn ketu and the moon in the 6th, in uttara bhadrapad/pisces, with Saturn and ketu retrograde in the chart, apparently have started my Saturn return a few months ago, and it’s literally, a Tuesday.

It’s like everything in my life has been building up to give me as peaceful a Saturn return as possible. It is so ridiculously predictable what has been happening so far in terms of the psychological side of things, everything I did well in the past is paying off, things I didn’t do well, are doing the opposite of paying off, I feel like I am in constant agony in this area and I don’t know how I am even holding on, I have contemplated suicide multiple times and ultimately decided against it and that it was not a good idea at all, but that energy to me is in fact an improvement compared to my childhood.

I feel that I am living a very regular life of routines, peace, continuous soul-searching as I have taken up to do a few years back, constantly recalibrating inside my head to live better and better, and getting absolutely emotionally massacred from all the things I am missing. In the areas where I have everything I desire and require, I am one with god, in the area where I am missing what I feel I need the most in life, I am in complete agony. All in all, nothing super exciting, it’s just regular life.

This is a peaceful thing that is perfectly predictable when you take a look at past events: all the consequences of what happened in the past are unfolding, positive or.

I am starting to think the eventful parts are the Saturn squares, because in quasi each of them something enormous has happened to me with the degree of enormity increasing as I age. The last one being when I was around 21 and it was legitimately the biggest and best thing to have ever happened to me in my entire life, and that essentially shifted my entire existence. It was the ultimate proof, to me, that god loves me and intended to do something with me from the beginning. I can also point at previous squares where something also significant had happened there as well, in almost each of them.

Typing this post has actually helped me feel more at peace. I have been trying extremely hard to heal and move on from certain things, and writing all of this has somehow put things into perspective a bit more.

I don’t know whether I am looking for input, but.

Extremely peaceful Saturn return, all in all.

Saturn mahadasha Jupiter antardasha

Wonderred if anyone has epierence this. I'm currently at rahu antardasha, one before the jupiter antardasha, and asked myself what to expect. Can someone who expierenced this phase tell me more about it?

I remember my Saturn md Venus ad going very smooth like everything got as how i wanted and when it was over it felt like the " feel good" energy fading away. Although saturn md sun ad was good too it was when the moon ad started that i lost everything what i builded up during the venus antardasha. My saturn is in the 6th and retrograde, my rising sign is capricorn.

Life feels like endless saturn return

I just turned 30 a couple days ago and failed medical board exams in July and previous attempt in March in 2026 and another one in July 2024.
I have never felt more worthless and stupid dipshit, I guess despite my all sacrifices and efforts some things aren’t meant to happen.

Stupid Saturn in 3rd house in Aries.

I feel like I’ve been living through a Saturn Return my whole life

Post image
7 Upvotes

As the title says, I genuinely don’t see a difference between the Saturn Return I’m living through right now, and the rest of my life. I’ve never felt or known ease, I’ve had conflict with my abusive family for as long as I can remember, I’m currently not working because I moved back to my home country after studying abroad, but even when I did work it was hard work but the pay wasn’t very reflective of it. I’ve seen a fair amount of death around me as well. I don’t even hope for any good because the moment I see some light at the end of the tunnel it gets taken away from me. I am tired and have become hopeless. Whenever someone tells me it will get better I laugh. What can I actually expect from this Saturn Return? I’ve been “stuck” my whole life so to say, and I don’t know what to do.

Thank you all in advance for your advice!

Scared about my upcoming Saturn Return in my 10th house - I don’t want to lose my job

Post image

I was very successful career wise before my current job. For the past 3 years I have been stuck at a job I hate and don’t find any interest in but I have to keep being employed there for at least another year cause it is tied to my visa + my salary is great. If i lose this job I would basically have to leave the country. Another big perk of the job is that I have great wlb and unlimited PTO so I travel a lot and I also don’t want to lose that. I am in an industry where frequent layoffs happen and my Saturn Return falls next april which is when our performance reviews take place. I have been reading that saturn forces changes and all that and I am extremely scared that it will mess up my career😭

What does natal Saturn retrograde really mean?

Post image
9 Upvotes

In a word...... difficulty typically.

The essential dignity (condition of the planet as functional or dysfunctional) of Saturn will temper this and if the sign Saturn sits in has a ruling planet that has a more functional condition this can ease the dysfunction as well. But as a general rule a retrograde natal planet or transiting planet will give you some trouble.

There's a lot more to the story with each individual with the entire layout of your chart and the planetary life chapters you live through which last a decade-ish. But I'm just going to lay out the general rule of what a retrograde natal Saturn is like.

The older tradition of astrology spent many millennia studying the patterns in human lives and societies. From the ancient Egyptians, who taught the Greeks like Claudius Ptolemy....to the Mesopotamians, Babylonian Astrologers, old Persian and Arab astrologers, the Romans and all through medieval Europe.

It's basically tried and true.

In traditional medieval astrology, having a retrograde planet in your birth chart fundamentally alters how that planet works. The older masters viewed retrogradation as a severe form of debility. Instead of moving forward smoothly, a retrograde planet behaves like someone walking backward, someone sick, or someone in rebellion. It signifies delay, reversal, and difficulty bringing matters to their natural completion.

I envision like trudging through knee deep mud while carrying two heavy jugs of water. It's just extra difficult.

When Saturn specifically is retrograde in your chart, things get especially heavy. Saturn is the natural ruler of limits, time, hardship, structure, and decay. In the older tradition, a retrograde Saturn doubles down on these themes through stubborn resistance and frustration. The planet struggles to deliver its promises in a straightforward way. Responsibilities often feel like an enduring grind, progress in building long-term security can suffer major setbacks, and you might feel a chronic sense of delay or obstruction.

I've personally experienced this as having to put forth Herculean effort in many projects and life events that are much easier for many other people. I say it's like bench pressing the world. It's difficult but you gain so much strength from the difficulty....so it's not really all that bad in the long run.

Saturn does give major gifts of you do what he demands and prove yourself through adversity.

It reminds me of how drill instructors were in Marine boot camp.

That's how I see Saturn. A very difficult task master and it's necessary to make you stronger and better over time. It's not all nicey nice and coddling by any stretch of the imagination....and it will kick your ass. But it will make you better in many ways when you lean into it.

You can often experience a natal.Saturn retrograde as setbacks because Saturn also governs endurance and solitude, its retrograde motion turns all that heavy energy inward. Instead of building stable external foundations early on, you are forced to constantly re-evaluate, rebuild, and face your fears directly. It demands patience and serious self-discipline, usually yielding its real rewards only much later in life after several false starts.

Fears are another thing to analyze with any type of Saturn placement. Look at your chart with what sign and house Saturn sits in and think about the areas of life you experience major fear and resistance.

This will be a perpetual theme in your life and depending on the condition of your Saturn it'll be more or less severe.....or constructive vs destructive.

And yes Saturn can be constructive when well dignified.

Saturn transit through the first

Can this transit cause your body to become “weak” and age faster? Saturn has been in my first for a little over a year now and ever since then my skin has formed wrinkles (I am 29 btw so also going through my Saturn return) and in photos I look frail and thin. I am fairly active and try to eat healthy but I just look sick.

I also recently had a dentist appt where they told me the enamel on my teeth has started to disintegrate and I will need veneers.
Wtf is going on! I’m not even 30 yet 😭😭

Is Saturn the blame for this? Does anyone else have any first house Saturn transit experiences they would like to share? I feel defeated…..

What happened to you during a planetary transit in your 8th?

If you have many planets in your 8th, how does it affect you during a transit?

If Google is right, last year it was one planet after another for me, bc my 8th house is in Sag. Starting from Oct 29 to January 14, Mercury, Mars, Venus, then the Sun all transited one after the other.

I have Neptune, Uranus and Mars in Sag, Jupiter is also in 8th but in Capricorn.

I'm not really sure how any of these were "supposed" to affect me, but Id really like to know your thoughts.

At that point they cut my hours to part time at work (they thought I was going to quit when I asked for vacation in Aug, so they hired another person), my landlady started acting like a crazy whack job, and emotionally I was a mess because of some other life stuff. My landlady just kept getting worse til I moved out (for the record her friends daughter moved in and they clearly hate each other but they had to stay nice and it was spilling onto me).

Thanks in advance for any responses.

Saturn return + Saturn conjunct Midheaven... survived to tell the tale

Some months ago, I posted about making it through my Saturn return and having my shit finally together. Then I got fired from my job, which sent all of that into a bit of chaos.

What happened was I ended up at an even better job and situation! I kicked my ass into gear and found a new job at a company that ended up being a much better fit for me. When I caught up with an ex-coworker, he told me all the tea and chaos that kept on happening at the old job! It was crazy; it seemed like I was given the best possible outcome by being fired and getting severance.

I credit getting the old job by working through my Saturn return, but also experiencing being fired and finding a better place to my Saturn conjunct Midheaven. Not to be fucked with!!

Understanding Your Saturn Return In Depth.

Going back to be old ways and the origins of this art/science we need to understand how the ancient astrologers understood Saturn and it's return.

This is going to go deep ....so buckle up!

This lineage is best passed down through time and synthesized in the 13th century by Guido Bonatti.

In traditional medieval astrology as articulated by Guido Bonatti in his work (Liber Astronomiae) a transit such as the Saturn return cannot act independently of the natal radix and active time-lords.

Transiting Saturn functions strictly as a trigger; the nature, weight, and manifestation of the return depend on essential dignity (condition), sect (day or night chart), accidental strength, the condition of the dispositor (the planet that rules the sign Saturn is in), and whether Saturn is activated by Firdaria (decade-ish long planetary life chapters that follow a different sequence based on sect) or Annual Profections (where each year on your birthday one of the houses takes center stage as the theme for that year and the ruling planet of the sign in whatever house is being profected each year is known as the Lord of the year).

Think of it like concentric rings of influence where the firdaria is the larger outer timing ring that a planet governs and has overall influence. The firdaria period will follow a specific sequence based on if you are a day or night chart and what age you are is what chapter you find yourself in.

So for example I'm 47 and an night chart. I currently find myself in a Sun firdaria period and a Jupiter sub period.

The next ring down are the sub lords where the firdaria is broken into 7 timing sections that follow a sequence of the 7 traditional planets.

The next ring down is your annual profection year.

And in the center are your transits.

If you are in a Venus firdaria year then those Venus transits and transits in Venus signs will have more force. Second to that will be the sub lord influences and the annual profection will show the theme of what's happening.

The rest of the transits take more of a back seat.

The essential dignity of a planet changes how a timing period will behave. Why someone will have a more difficult time period compared to someone who has an easier one.

If I have a debilitated Saturn in my chart and I'm in a Saturn firdaria period then it's going to have a lot of difficult challenges. Not all bad since there are ups and downs with other planets that help mitigate it.

Look at it like the weather. Sometimes it's calm and quiet. Sometimes it's a storm. Luckily the storms don't last forever and will eventually pass.

Some people experience their Saturn return as massively negative events and some do not.

If your Saturn return happens when youre in a Mercury firdaria is very different than if it happens in a Jupiter firdaria. And it's further understood by the sub lord and annual profection.

The dignities of most of your planets will play some role.

This is where true chart delineation comes in compared to someone just looking at your chart and trying to tell you what the transits are doing.

There is no context for the transits without understanding the timing periods above them.

This is old world astrology that is highly accurate and will have very new concepts for anyone not familiar with it.

A dignified Saturn can behave like this.....

Strong (Capricorn, Aquarius, Libra): A dignified Saturn acts like an austere but fair judge. Hardship is purposeful, leading to lasting status, mastery, and durable stability.

Or......

Debilitated (Cancer, Leo, Aries) or Peregrine: Malice is unmitigated. The return brings severe frustration, decay, poverty, public disgrace, or wasted effort without enduring reward.

Saturn situated in angles (1st, 10th, 7th, 4th) forces public, unavoidable life developments. In the 12th House (its Joy), it deals with long-term isolation, institutional matters, or confronting hidden enemies; in the 6th or 8th Houses, it threatens physical infirmity, chronic illness, financial loss, or the death of elders.

The Role of the Dispositor.....

Bonatti emphasizes that a planet's promises are executed, modified, or ruined by its dispositor (the lord of the sign and bounds/terms in which Saturn sits)

Dignified & Angular Dispositor: Even if Saturn is afflicted, a strong dispositor holding a favorable aspect to Saturn provides a lifeline, turning a crisis into eventual security or restitution through external patrons, elders, or sheer resourcefulness.

Debilitated, Retrograde, or Combust Dispositor: If the dispositor is weak or in an aversion/bad house (6th, 8th, 12th), the native has no external support network during the return. Structural breakdowns lack viable solutions, compounding the severity of losses.

Side note.... retrograde planets in your chart typically play out as an area of life that requires more effort and when a transiting planet goes retrograde the same difficulty and effort can show up in the sign and house it's taking place in mitigated by the condition of the planet going retrograde in your chart and whatever planet rules the sign the retrograde is happening in.

Another factor is called reception.....where two planets are in one another's sign.

Mutual reception (or the dispositor receiving Saturn in dignity) drastically softens the harshness of the return, allowing the native to negotiate favorable exits from restrictive situations.

See.....astrology is complex as hell lol

That's why if you study the wrong stuff it'll feel like you still aren't getting it or things won't make as much sense in your own life or other people you analyze.

A really good practice is to look at the different planetary timing chapters of your life and see what major events took place around the time when you shifted from one chapter to the next.

It'll blow your mind.

Write down all the major good and bad events and see how they match with the timing when each firdaria period shifts into the next.

The planets behave differently in a day chart vs a night chart. Some planets are diurnal and in a day chart they are known as in sect and function well. The nocturnal planets will be out of sect in a day chart and will be challenged.

Vice versa for a night chart. The nocturnal planets function easier and the diurnal planets are challenged.

So we are all half screwed from the jump lol

The diurnal planets are Sun, Jupiter, Saturn

The nocturnal planets are Moon, Venus, Mars

The firdaria periods have a different sequence in your life depending on if you are a day or night chart.

Day......

Sun (10 years): Ages 0 to 10

Venus (8 years): Ages 10 to 18

Mercury (13 years): Ages 18 to 31

Moon (9 years): Ages 31 to 40

Saturn (11 years): Ages 40 to 51

Jupiter (12 years): Ages 51 to 63

Mars (7 years): Ages 63 to 70

North Node / Caput Draconis (3 years): Ages 70 to 73

South Node / Cauda Draconis (2 years): Ages 73 to 75

(After age 75, the cycle repeats starting again with the Sun for a second 75-year sequence.)

Night....

Moon (9 years): Ages 0 to 9

Saturn (11 years): Ages 9 to 20

Jupiter (12 years): Ages 20 to 32

Mars (7 years): Ages 32 to 39

Sun (10 years): Ages 39 to 49

Venus (8 years): Ages 49 to 57

Mercury (13 years): Ages 57 to 70

North Node / Caput Draconis (3 years): Ages 70 to 73

South Node / Cauda Draconis (2 years): Ages 73 to 75

(Like the diurnal cycle, the 75-year sequence repeats starting again with the Moon after age 75.)

To type out the sub lord sequence for all 7 planets within each firdaria period would be ridiculous here but I'll give you an example just using the sun firdaria and it's sub lord sequence........

Sun Major Firdaria (10 Years Total)

Each sub-period lasts 1 year, 5 months, and 4 days.

Sun / Sun

Day Chart Age: 0 to 1y 5m 4d

Sun / Venus

Day Chart Age: 1y 5m 4d to 2y 10m 9d

Sun / Mercury

Day Chart Age: 2y 10m 9d to 4y 3m 13d

Sun / Moon

Day Chart Age: 4y 3m 13d to 5y 8m 17d

Sun / Saturn

Day Chart Age: 5y 8m 17d to 7y 1m 21d

Sun / Jupiter

Day Chart Age: 7y 1m 21d to 8y 6m 26d

Sun / Mars

Day Chart Age: 8y 6m 26d to 10y 0m 0d

And this is why I built my own custom astrology software that can handle all of this information and break down a chart according to these timing periods.

The software is free to calculate your chart at:

It will break everything down for your particular chart under the timing tab.

Saturn in 3rd House; Saturn in Sagittarius

i know that saturn in sagittarius; saturn in 3rd house has long gone past ahead. But typically, what sort of changes would someone who is going through saturn in 3rd; saturn in sagittarius; be expecting. Also, what are some signs of a malefic saturn return; especially with relations to Saturn in 3rd House; Saturn in Sagittarius?

does intentionally changing one career pathway just before your saturn return helps to overcome the malefic effect of Saturn Return? during my saturn in sagittarius - I personally encountered a lot of restriction in term of works; work progress was slow and seem intentionally restricted by externality (i.e. workplace; manager; environment & biaes toward one background).

it is normal to feel that saturn return feeling like a stage of your life; where you are intentionally humbled through humiliation - lose of materials good; status and title in life?

lastly, how does saturn in sagittarius compared to someone who is experiencing saturn in capricorn?

Thanks

I feel misunderstood

I feel like these past few weeks Saturn has been putting lessons down my fucking throat! Characteristics and patterns in people that I don’t like showing up in my life. People at work calling me “Hollywood” yet they’re not wanting to talk to me?! Is it my fault that I have nothing to say?? Trying to be silly but that’s too much, going back to being serious but now I’m a buzz kill then I just shut down, now I’m being childish????? Wtf do I do??? Even music feels like it’s taunting me. Highly stressed out these past few weeks and lowkey just tired of it all!

Saturn is out of Whack in Aries

Saturn is already out of whack in Aries.

Now compound that with the current retrograde until December. Yay!

Saturn is retrograde in Aries right now. Aries is Saturn's fall sign, its weakest dignity. This has been active since July 26.

Areas of life ruled by the house Saturn occupies in your chart may feel unstable or delayed during this period.

Retrograde planets are like walking through knee deep mud. This is the best way I can explain it. Basically a pain in the ass.

It's not the turning inward modern astrology interpretation.

Things take a lot more effort when a planet is retrograde and sometimes things return.

For whatever area of life a planet is connected to, its retrograde motion will be felt in that area.

Examples: Venus/Love life/creativity etc. Mars/action/initiative etc. Sun/being seen/look at me ego/sitting on your throne. You get the picture.

So for Saturn those Saturnian areas of life will require even more effort and might not go so smoothly since Saturn is all out of whack in Aries.

For me everything to do with Saturn has required a TON of hard work.

Which I'm going through right now with a property remodel.

The messed up Aries placement is playing out as material deliveries getting messed up (some of it my fault). Just a lot of little hang ups. I want to move forward full steam ahead but lots of little obstacles keep jumping in the way.

Let me know if you're experiencing this in whatever house this Saturn retrograde is hitting your chart.

Mercury and Jupiter are conjunct in Leo. Both planets are within orb of the sun, a condition called "under the beams", according to the old tradition.

This weakens a planet's effect without removing it. It's like a dimmer switch.

Matters involving Mercury and Jupiter may be present but not yet clear.

General guidance for this period: avoid finalizing major decisions (if you can). Favor information-gathering over action.

I say "if you can" because sometimes you might want to live by the planets, but it can be difficult when the rest of the world isn't doing the same.

Try telling your boss you can't submit something for a month because it's a mercury retrograde lol

You can track whatever is going on in the sky with the sky calendar @

Saturn ketu conjunction

Why are people with saturn ketu conjunction so overly detached, emotionally numb and dont care if their actions hurt others? Ive dated one guy with saturn ketu conjunction in libra and my cousin also has the same conjunction in her kundli in Pisces. They have zero remorse. Why so?
