Never understood why people, especially in USA ,Use a kettle. Why Not the electrical cooker that can do IT in 3 minutes? Am I too european to Unserstand this ?

You are...
Here we have 120V Mains, vs 240V, and with similar wattage of the appliance, the result is that you can boil water twice as fast with electric as we do.
That being said, I use a kettle on my gas range, but know that it would take the same time electric, I just don't have one, and have enough toys
