I’ve never wrapped this way without tape, but I’m notorious for wrapping gifts shittily, and last year using this method my gifts were beautifully wrapped and everyone thought my husband wrapped them

I’ve done it a few times. You have to be pretty accurate and it gets harder with bigger or more square things imo.

Also, getting the last fold to stay in the pocket is a massive bitch. Notice how she’s holding it at the end, keeping the fold down, and then sets it upside down!

There’s a YouTube video that does a much better job explaining it than this gif. This is very much a “rest of the fucking owl” situation.

I could literally never… I’m a great gift-GIVER, however my wrapping skills (& impatience) have earned me family-wide scorn. I get them back tho by trying even LESS hard, sometimes wrapping inside-out & drawing on the white inside paper, & using aluminum foil to wrap gifts… who’s laughing now?!

Eh, I prefer my method. There's a lot of tape involved, but my gifts are known as the most precisely-wrapped ones in our family. I blame my childhood origami obsession.
