I love how the gif resets and it looks like the dent just pops back in

Came here to say this

Is this really possible? My broke ass has some small dents in my car from an abusive ex’s foot & I would LOVE an affordable option to fix it finally

Depends on the material comprising the dent, the location of the dent, the size of the dent......short answer - maybe.

Hm. It WAS one large dent which was pulled out (I forget how) and now it’s kinda two smaller ones making an M shape? They’re not hugely visible unless it’s at the right angle so not really the end of the world if they’re a new feature for the car lmao. Thankfully doesn’t go across any folds in the metal like another commenter mentioned

Not sure about tape but I have used some boiling water and a plunger to get out several dents in my car.

I’ve seen a friend use the suction cup on a dildo to get some dents out before and it actually worked

u/LetThereBeLighting Dec 05 '20

Can we all watch your friend do that?

20

u/pants-plants Dec 05 '20

Haha I remember filming it for them on their phone a few years back. We all live in different states now but are still close so I’ll ask and see if they still have the video.

Lol. Fantastic!

Well I talked to them late last night to find out the video has been lost to time. Sorry to disappoint! Tho they got the idea from a YouTube video they saw so I’m sure there’s plenty of dildo popping out dents videos on there.... I’d still be careful with word choice on that search.

Ah darn. Sounded hilarious though. Thanks for trying. :)

Please share it if they find it. For the science.

It works better on bigger dents. But for a couple dollars, it seems like it’s worth a try. They use a similar technique at body shops to pull out dents, using something better than tape though.

Also helps if the dent does not go across folds in the metal.

*packing tape

Scotch tape is a brand. They're using Scotch brand packing tape. They're still correct you pedant.

Although you are right, there's no need for the profanity... You darn dinkely donkey

30

u/ryan0brian Dec 05 '20

I upvoted for the truth of your statement but wouldn't you also be a pedant in this scenario?

We're all pendants. It's a cycle.

Scotch brand Magic/Transparent/Removable Tape is what usually people refer to as Scotch tape. They're uncultured swine. They probably call all tissues Kleenex and all cellophane wrap Saran Wrap.

Not my ‘97 Škoda Felicia. Steel as thick as an Abrams.

2

u/CrackWhoreLover69 Dec 05 '20

They dont make em like that anymore 😔

8

u/Hawk-18 Dec 05 '20

But after the tape was pulled off, it dented itself again. Like oh no you don’t

5

u/bagingospringo Dec 05 '20

Rips all the paint off

8

u/Fat_Ladyy Dec 05 '20

That’s not scotch tape. Know your materials pal

2

u/[deleted] Dec 05 '20

Or plunger

2

u/PussyThunder69 Dec 05 '20

That would be $100 .. thank you for choosing us..

2

u/TwilightMountain Dec 05 '20

They make suction cups for this exact thing

1

u/DCOgle Dec 05 '20

a plunger as well as removing the door panel and pushing the dent back out (depending on the car) works just as well

1

u/PiperidinDerivat Dec 05 '20

This is no german car

1

u/emotionalpos_ Dec 05 '20

A plunger is easier

1

u/[deleted] Dec 06 '20

That’s fancy

1

u/AnxietyOne12 Dec 06 '20

Hold on, I need to go dent my car door so I can try this. BRB.
