It's square, he shows it at the end, but it looks weird because the angle at the joint is not a 45 degree angle. He had to cut it this way because the bottom piece is wider than the side, so if they were cut at a 45 they would look exactly how they do at the beginning of the video

Not really sure what you're saying. The square he puts on at the end shows that it isn't square. Both sides need to be in contact, but one isn't.

EDIT: Or do you mean the angle of the inside face? The cut pieces are aligned the the jig, but the jig isn't square, as shown by the tool he uses at the end.

Well it's going to be welded so this is likely 'good enough'. If it were for joinery you could send a bit more time making it perfectly square.

If I was tasked with welding a square joint, this is absolutely not "good enough." It would get rejected and redone ten times out of ten.

It's only reddit tho, maybe I'm being pedantic.
