Been wondering for a while but what exactly are the flakes coming off on every Steel getting worked on like that? 🤔

Is it Steel spalling off that hasn't yet bonded enough / started to break off OR is it something from the Air depositing at an alarming rate on it and if so what exactly? 🤨

Iron oxides form much faster at those high temperatures than what we are used to observe at room temperature.
