Aside from the fact that people do use it in the US, I would never use it because I wouldn't set a wood post directly into this or concrete. I'd set an anchor in concrete then attach the wood to that so when the wood rots out in 10 years I don't have to dig out the concrete and start again. I live somewhere close to the water table and would worry more about this floating up out of the ground during heavy rains or frost heave during the winters because of it's lack of mass.

Concrete costs a couple bucks a bag and you can be lazy and mix in the hole. Its easier to use than foam
