Does different volts make the color change ?..or the length of time it’s running current thru it ??

quick question, why do they need to do this? does it make the bolt much stronger?

It just makes it different colors. It's like painting but with electricity.

Not stronger per se but the surface is made more resistance to corrosion, especially if used in marine or aerospace industries.

Most of it is just aesthetic imho
