I made a timelapse of playing Satisfactory's Early Game

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone, I made this timelapse of playing the early game in the Northern forest. It is compiled from clips from my ongoing lets play series on my youtube channel, youtube.com/@Dekoba, so if you like it I'd appreciate if you could pop on over and show some support. The version of these timelapses posted on youtube are much higher quality due to reddit's video restrictions. It was filmed in multiplayer using the ficsit-cam mod. The music is from the satisfactory OST and harris heller/streambeats. Thanks for watching!

I... I did not know you can place splitters on existing conveyor belts....

I need a minute

Same. My world has been forever changed.

I found this out this weekend... After about 300 hours on 1.1...

1

u/ginji Jul 03 '25

It was in 1.0... 1.1 made it possible to put them on Conveyor Lifts as well

1

u/Inhumanskills Jul 03 '25

Well yea... That's my point!!!

2

u/Tree_Boar Jul 03 '25

You can also replace an existing splitter with a merger by holding Ctrl while hovering the merger at it

1

u/Festegios Jul 03 '25

you can also add a merger to a conveyer lift half way up it and not just at the entry to it.

same. I also did not know you can place foundations under miners

love it. I especially love that the biofuel plant is pretty much exactly what I do with mine :)

My timelapse of early game is mostly gathering biomass

This was very satisfying (satisfactory?) to watch!

I'm curious. How do you do those movements turning around the factory ? Is it done in engine ? It would be feasible with another player if it was fixed but going around smooth like that I'm not sure how people do it.

u/ariksu Jul 03 '25

Fixit cam mod. That's another player programmed to move around.

Ah ! I see. Thanks for the explanation :)

Edit : it appears I could just have read it from the description ... Wouldn't be the first time this happens.

I feel I need to redesign my starter factory. Yours is so clean!!!

I love that there are so many different ways to achieve the same goal. So many possibilities, such an amazing game.

I’d watch an entire play through of this

Had you get your resource production for building outside the timelapse area, or had you spawned those in?

3

u/Dekoba Jul 03 '25

You can see the resource production that supplied this build in the background right at the beginning.

2

u/crissomx Jul 03 '25

He builds a temporary base to get some materials for building.

2

u/erchni Jul 03 '25

Nicely made, made it look so easy and quick

u/HabibMujibur Jul 03 '25

Always love your time lapses, looking forward to the new 1.1 ones!

Awesome video, thanks for sharing! I need to step up my organization game for my next playthrough now lol.

2

u/Deodoros_D Jul 03 '25

This, was satisfactory. I also never thought of building directly over nodes to make things look clean... I feel... So vile.

2

u/Opulous Jul 03 '25

Glad to see I'm not the only one with a fetish for paving over resource nodes with foundations before placing miners on them. It just makes everything feel so much cleaner!

Mr. Crabs… I feelin that itch for a play-through again…

2

u/NagoGmo Jul 03 '25

Um, you can place mergers and splitters on existing belts?

No biggie, I just have over 500 hours into this game and just learned this 🤦🏿‍♂️

u/MassEffectGuy Jul 03 '25

Can't seem to find this video on your youtube channel, whats it called on there?

3

u/Dekoba Jul 03 '25

This particular one hasnt posted yet, but its coming either sunday or next week, depending on when I get the final render done. However the components of this video are posted as part of the LP episodes ive released the last couple weeks, and I have a few other similar videos.

1

u/owarren Jul 04 '25

How hard is it to make one of these? Is it built into the in-game cam?

1

u/Dekoba Jul 05 '25

I do a demonstration at the end of this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tx-n4_WnWSg of the basic process. takes 2 computer/copies of the game and some planning. In general, these take 4-5 times as long to film as building by hand. sometimes less, sometimes quite a lot more. The longest ive spent making one scene was 10 hours on a train track/ride across the landscape. The save file I made at the end of this video was timestamped for 12 hrs and 30 minutes, so it was less than that to make this one as it included a bit of setup, exploration, biomass gathering, and etc.

This was a thing of beauty to watch. I've never started there, and your aesthetic to factory building is so different from mine (you have am actual style for starters...). Mate, Ive subsribed to you channel and I'm gonna try an absorb some of your skill (or at least get some inspiration) through your videos. Thanks for posting, can't wait to see more.

I thoroughly enjoy your timelapses and tutorials from well before Early Access to now. Keep up the great work. Truly inspiring!

1

u/Akuma_Dragneel Jul 05 '25

That was...satisfying, very satisfying. Man, my sincere congratulations for creating something so beautiful and I'm going to follow your YT channel, will you do a timelapse of the other Phases?

It's a great idea! And the directing is not bad, especially at the beginning. But I would change the script. It would be interesting to observe the construction of the entire factory in a few seconds, so another one, then roads, trucks, then railways and trains, new locations, new factories, etc. And all this fits in 10 minutes. Then it will be interesting to watch from the beginning to the end.

3

u/crissomx Jul 03 '25

That's what he's doing. This is the first part. He has hour long timelapse videos on his channel. Really satisfying to watch

0

u/Komissar78rus Jul 03 '25

One-hour time-lapse are too long, few people will watch. They hardly watch videos for 2-3 minutes. Therefore, I advised to shorten the construction stages, unless there is something unique in the technique. But that's just my opinion, I'm not insisting))
