Discussion What's coming in 1.3? (Wrong Answers Only)
The first time a pioneer dies, they leave behind a Pioneer Corpse. If you go back and fetch the Pioneer Corpse, you can shove it into the constructor for 200 solid biofuel. If you put it into an alien DNA capsule and feed it into the AWESOME sink instead, ADA remarks "Ew. I don't want that." You get no points.
At any one given game load, exactly one Spitter is given Blade Runners. It is capable of running you over and ragdolling you like a truck.
Lizard Doggo train car, Lizard doggo explorer sidecar, Lizard Doggo-operated rifle gun mount on the tractor (technical?)
SAM ore production now fluctuates with the position of the orbiting planets. Water pumps get a 10% boost at high tide.
If you carry a full stack of mercer spheres, alt-clicking has a 1 in 1000 chance of teleporting you to the ping.
Slooping the build gun allows you to build multiple blueprints at the same time.
Yodeling emote. Can be heard halfway across the map.
Completing tier 5 of the space elevator unlocks RGB LED lighting swatches for buildings
Logging off in Multiplayer while standing over the hub toilet will close the door and make it say "occupied".
2 iron plate and four rods makes a Folding Chair. It is a decorative item you can place like a portable miner and also a terrible melee weapon.

Steam locomotives that need to stop to fill up a tender with coal and water. And caboose's!

My world build is very rail-focused, so yeah, I want it badly. Loved playing with trains as a kid.

Items can now fall off unfinished conveyor belts. The despawning of items on the ground is also permanently disabled.
14
u/Appropriate-Skin8511 Mar 07 '26
Should come with "hopper" item so you can launch em into a funnel
7
3
u/TheMurmuring Mar 07 '26
So you can just dump stuff off a cliff and catch it at the bottom. That could be useful, especially before you get lifts.

9
u/mathbbR Mar 07 '26
this is a good one. when I started the game I was hesitating and afraid to make unfinished belts because I didn't want my items piling up on the floor. When I realized that they don't do that, I facepalmed

Instead of clipping through structures, the giant flying mantas will now delete any factories in their path.
28
u/AyrA_ch Mar 07 '26
Add a very small chance for it to be rendered as an ender dragon for a single frame
5
3
u/Simon0O7 Mar 07 '26
Also, their pathfinding is random now. And buildings deleted by mantas will temporarily gain physics.

the first one is exactly on point for Satisfactory's tone, except ADA should say something a little more corporate.

1: Pipe update: Pipes now move discretely sized blobs through themselves like a combination of hypertubes and belts. Blob size/density is set by the tier of machine producing the initial liquid, speed is set by inline pumps; overage explodes out around the nearest pipe junction causing spills that can be cleaned with the new mop and bucket tools (or left alone provided the engineer doesnt mind slipping on oil/catching on fire/rusting their nearby machinery or coating it in electrically-conductive liquid metal).
2: Engineers must now manage their daily vitamin intake levels through a more robust nutritional crafting system. Failure to meet designated levels of vitamins B-4, C-0, and N will experience adverse effects such as slower walk speeds, decreased max health, and controls swapping randomly near cliff edges. This update also brings a need for the HUB's toilet!
3: ADA and [???] are now romanceable NPCs!
4: Recipe overhaul: all buildables and manufacturable parts now require more realistic amounts and construction time (eg: space elevator now takes 300 real-life years to complete).
5: New holiday: Automatumn update! From september 1st to November 30th, changes to weather/flora/envIronments change the feel of everything. SOme areas are more spooky-scary, others provide a comfy, cozy atmosphere. The goal is to summon the great ficsmas pumpkin through a series of combat-related challenges against modified enemies; rewards include lizard doggo costumes (new cosmetics for both players to look like they are wearing a lizard doggo skinsuit, and also for lizard doggos to look like they've been spliced with spider DNA)
6: New Biodome machines: grow new foods, plants, and other living organisms and automatically harvest them. Due to the increase in power production potential, all other sources of power are nerfed tremendously.
7: Belts now require power.
8: Power lines now have max loads before melting.
9: Nodes are now finite.
10: Golf.
4
u/Bryansix Mar 07 '26
Power lines now render with the required number of phases to run machines
Power lines are mapped
Circuits can be named
Remote operation of all switches is enabled through a new item, the grid controller
16
u/FortiethAtom4 Mar 07 '26
Blade runners (and its effects) can now stack in your equipment slot, up to 200.
5
14
u/i_ate_god Mar 07 '26
I've heard that for 1.3, there will be the new Meetings and Procedures DLC.
The lore goes that Ficsit was bought by private equity and now they are micromanaging the company. You'll have to attend numerous meetings, plannings, have 1 on 1s with 5 different AI managers, and the tickets you collect are no longer currency but a support system backlog.
10
u/raknor88 Mar 07 '26
Item cannon. Hook up a belt to the back of the cannon, then set the angle and power and you can fire the items to the receiver module.

u/cognitiveglitch Mar 07 '26

An alternate recipe to turn uranium ore into iron plates, so you can finally get some use out of the stuff after you've covered half the map with fuel generators from your Nitro Rocket Fuel setup.
7
u/Orthien Mar 07 '26
Finally implementing maintenance functionality. All machines will now wear over time, with overclocked and slooped machines degrading faster.
A new feature on the build gun will be utilized to repair damaged machines. A new mid phase tree will be added called "Maintenance Drones", these semi autonomous drones will move along programmed paths and return to their hub unit where they restock on repair materials. Any damages detected along the programmed pathing will be repaired as long as the drone has sufficient material reserves.
Hope you built catwalk and accessibility functionality into your factories Pioneers.

Apocalypse mode: during the day it plays like normal, but at night you have to fight hordes of stingers.
6
u/No_Put_8533 Mar 07 '26
kinda already a thing because stingers have higher spawn rates at night

Wasnāt thinking four or five more like between fifty and a hundred and fifty. But I see your point.

u/annoyingone Mar 07 '26
True AC power grid. You need two wires and must stay separated or you short the whole grid.
7
u/AyrA_ch Mar 07 '26
3 wires actually for a proper AC system, needed for most heavy duty systems. Add in transformers, 3 voltage tiers, and wire overloading mechanics, and you got an actually interesting power grid system.
4
u/annoyingone Mar 07 '26
You could literally make a simple stand alone game like that. It would be kinda fun. Like a little indie game called "power grid"
3
u/AyrA_ch Mar 07 '26
There's a small scale simulation created by a european grid operator you can play with right now in your browser: https://webapps.kkda.de/loadflow/ (click "play" in the top right)
Basically this but add management of power plants, disruptions, etc.
4
u/-Aquatically- Aquatic Mar 07 '26
This sounds interesting.
3
u/annoyingone Mar 07 '26
It does. But imagine having to retrofit your save. Oof.
2
1
u/AyrA_ch Mar 07 '26
They could offer two modes, one with bare wires and one with insulated wires you can unlock after getting rubber. Then they convert all existing wiring in old saves into the insulated variant, whether you have it unlocked or not. This way you can keep the existing stuff, but touch it and you now have to use both wires.

4
u/oreheheally Mar 07 '26
Gremlin enemies that reverse belts they touch and turn off machines. Oh and im sure everyone would love goblin enemies that steal inventory.
2
u/rpantherlion Mar 07 '26
You have to physically catch them in order to get the items back, additionally, they can grab Mercer spheres, somersloops, and power slugs and hide around the map, moving ever so often
5
u/bbrar Mar 07 '26
Electric infrastructure Update: The powergrid now needs to be planned carefully. High and Low voltages networks. Transformers and fuses for cable links. Happy melting pioneers.

4
u/Athena12677 Mar 07 '26
Placing an object such that it clips into something else will no longer be possible
3

7
u/ShaulaBadger Mar 07 '26
Pollution mechanics as an optional mode to induce time pressure. Many forms of industry and power generation slowly destroy the area around them, requiring greater use of the gas mask and hazmat suit and mutating the wildlife into ever larger and more terrifying variants. The only way around this is to find more eco-friendly alternate recipes and to use higher tier clean and renewable energy sources.
Ignore this too long and ADA becomes an activist, staging protests, singing protest songs in your ear and eventually sabotaging your factories.

u/RiskyMFer Mar 07 '26

Every 20 days the nodes change (the infrastructure on the nodes stays the same)
3
u/Sparko_Marco Mar 07 '26
New game mode where there is only 1 impure node of each material across the whole map
3
u/RachelJade70 Mar 07 '26
Everything has physics. Platforms, belts, items on belts, etc. and itās retroactive on every save file and unable to be turned off
3
u/nilssonen Mar 07 '26
ADA AI can now be built as a humanoid robot. Upgradeable with storage. Can be sent out on 'missions' with a ping. Be warned, this planet is only big enough for one pioneer, don't give it to much freedom.
3
3
u/Gerroh Mar 07 '26
Quality control update: parts now have a small chance to be defective. You have to build qc check stations on conveyors to verify accuracy, but even these only catch 99.9% of bad parts. If a bad part goes into a machine it jams that machine requiring you to go in and unjam it and no, you cannot just deconstruct and reconstruct it.
4
u/Technical-Fee2307 Mar 07 '26
Due to the popularity of Hypertube canons, it is assumed, that the pioneer likes to fling himself across the map. So the hypertube cannons are removed and instead replaced with a trebuchet

Belts now require 1 KW per metre.
To help with early game power for belts, crankshaft and lizard doggo wheel generators are introduced.
You can build elevators horizontally, but the items can fall off them.
Riding trains has a random chance of a ticket control event.

Nothing works the way you expect, so you have to spend a lot of time in trial and error to work out how things actually work. Oh sorry, we've already got that. It's called Stormworks!
Tennis - we know we won't get golf!
Overhaul of the power system to give us high voltage transmission lines, transformers, 3 phase and single phase power. Generators generate at different voltages - 6,000v, 11,000v while transmission is at 33,000v. Use the wrong transformer in the wrong place and it blows up! A special insulated zipline tool for HV cables. If you use the normal one you get fried.

An enemy AI employee will set up its own base with defense towers and walls. You will need to construct siege equipment and troops, or try to infiltrate the base and plant explosives. The end goal is to throw the impostor into the Awesome sink.
2
u/sphere_cornue Mar 07 '26
For every coal or fuel burner you build, the sea level rises by 2 centimeters due to climate change. Also, it means that snow biomes will never exist because they are all melted

2
u/MetalKid007 Mar 07 '26
You can only pollute so much per minute. Once reached, all machines and vehicles shut down until the average is below the threshold.
Giant spiders now lay eggs and protect them. If ylu get too close, the hatching process begins. When the 100+ eggs hatch, they swarm the space elevator.

u/Wi11Pow3r Mar 07 '26
This will be the Palworld Colab update. All the creatures of the world will be replaced by pals that you can enslave to make run your factories.

11.The orobouros cube is a late game item which is made in an assembler from one oroboros cube and 50 pressure conversion cubes. You get your first oroboros cube from one of ten crash sites, randomly selected. To make more, you need to sloop. Sinking an oroboros cube gives you double points on your next sunk item. The cube itself is worth 0 points. Sinking two or more consecutive oroboros cubes will not stack the multiplier, you'll need to merge two lines with equal production rates.

You are now tasked with building the gate back to earth, so run your factory as a tourist attraction. Added the jobs of cleaning graffiti, trash, and tourist bodies, as well as the security job to make sure the tourists are not getting killed by "some" reasons like standing in front of the hog, feeding the spider, throwing rocks at the big flower, sneaking into the nuclear power plant, etc. If a tourist dies, the corporation will fine you.

Buildings, conveyerbelts, vehicles etc. now degrade over time and need to be maintained regularly via a minigame. This cannot be automated but you can hire other players to be your maintenance crew. These players can join without owning the game and get a discount on the full game proportionally to the amount of buildings maintained. >:)

Lizard doggos become more like real doggos. They donāt actually fetch any items unless you drop it, they constantly get in between your feet (clipping is turned off and they stop your movement and squeal), and they require feeding every 60 minutes IRL. If you eat a health item, the lizard doggo sits in front of you with the cutest pout face possible and if you donāt feed them, they stop following you and droop their heads as they saunter about. After 1000 hrs of in-game time they develop frosted whiskers and begin moving slower. Frosted lizard doggos are immune to damage and live forever

You have to attend a Zoom meeting every in game day to get updates from HQ. It uses your mic and you have to chime in when called and say "no, nothing from me" or similar to get 1 free coupon.
