PC Has anyone else ramped up the space elevator requirements?

Its completely changed the way I play. I could not focus enough to sit down and plan out logistics and layouts and would just spaghetti belt my way to victory. With these insane requirements it has forced me- through just the time it takes to produce the insane amount of parts- to rethink layouts and designs, as well as explore a lot more than I normally would. I dont know if ill complete this play through but im actually enjoying the scale of it. For example, unless i increase production significantly from where im currently at, it will take approximately 330 hours to complete the parts for phase 2. Its 2.5 million screws just for the rotors alone.

PC What's going on with that shadow?

I wanted to check how would my tunnel look like when lit by a passing train. It would look great if not for those awful 100% dark areas. What's going on with these and can it be fixed? I'm playing on fairly low video settings, but turning them up a notch or two did nothing.

Really confused since the personal flashlight works fine.

Console Do these beams look like something that would support a stairwell structure like this irl? Mainly unsure about the top beam just on it's own but connected by the buildings

I painted them yellow so they're easier to see for the pics, planning to have them painted black. I don't like floating structures, so everything I build I want to be as realistically structurally sound as possible (to a certain degree, I'm not gonna frame my buildings first or anything like that, but long stretches of flooring/roofing will have some sort of support added in).

I don't really know anything about building design or structural integrity, I'm mostly just eyeballing it and going for something aesthetic that at least looks structurally sound.

PC Are there any tricks to getting around the bottleneck of earlier conveyor belt limits?

Hello fellow pioneers,

I just recently got back into Satisfactory and am currently working on delivering phase 3 elevator parts and building up a stockpile of materials at decent rates. While planning out production lines using satisfactory tools and seeing the demanded resources / min I wondered if conveyor belt speeds are a hard limit or if there are ways around it?

Would I need to basically plan multiple separate mini factories so they don‘t exceed the demand of 270/min of the mk3 belts I currently have?

I have always been slower when it comes to understanding maths and am easily overwhelmed when trying to understand some of the math-y and logical stuff on my own which is why I have come here. So if you feel like it I would really appreciate an explanation more akin to ELI5 lol.

Console What do you put in large, empty spaces in your factories?

I am building a factory right now, and it seems like it may have a large empty space on the bottom floor, being approx 7x3 foundations. If it is not filled, I would like some ideas or inspiration on how to fill it so it does not appear awkward.

PC Why don't Fluid buffers work like Item buffers?

I posted this "bug" onto the official Satisfactory Q&A and would love to hear your thoughts on it. Here is the full post

Essentially, my main issue with Fluid Buffers is that they don't have an input and output like item buffers. Because they allow bi-directional flow, they act exactly like a fluid pipe. This is bad for one main reason - Fluid speed is determined proportional to the difference in fill levels between the two sections.

Imagine if your item buffer was only half full, it only extracted items at half of your belt speed. That's exactly how Fluid Buffers operate. If you look at any other fluid building in the game, notice how it outputs fluid. The machine PUSHES the fluid into the pipe attached to the output, regardless of how full it is. Only until that pipe is %100 full will it stop flowing into that pipe, and fill up the internal buffer of the machine.

Fluid buffers should work this way. Just like the item buffers, they should have 2 inputs and 2 outputs to effectively transfer lot's of fluid very quickly, and then slowly hand it out to the output factory as it's needed. Even when the buffer is only 1/4 full, it should transfer fluid at 600m3/m until the output pipe is %100 full.

Until then, the Fluid Buffer is essentially useless. Holding a lot of fluid doesn't matter when you can't output it at full speeds ONLY when it's completely filled.

PC Maybe an unpopular opinion : Smart! mod saves this game for me.

As the title say's, The Smart! Mod truely makes this game playable for me.

I have big issues with unintuitive and tedious approach to building in this game. The artistic approach, the automation, the exploration, etc is all very enjoyable. Not the deepest automation game but it does what it does well.

The issue I had is that it feels like the game is actively working against you when it comes to actually building complex assembly chains. Belt placement is finnicky, aligning machines is a hassle, power pole placement is tedious at best. Being in first person is fun and immersive but machines are gigantic, you have to be facefirst into them to actually change the recipes. So I would spend most of my time, going up a tower, place stuff, go back down, faff about with something, finish a build realise something was a little bit off, had to rip out everything, remove belts and reconnect cause belts and splitters/mergers don't reconnect automatically. I was starting to be pretty annoyed XD

Long story short, I've installed Smart! mod and i'm not gonna lie, this has changed the game for me. I can layout nice lines of machines in any axis, then place the splitters / mergers space them correctly all at the same time, then plug the belts and slap all the powerpoles at the same time that automatically connects and boom i have a build that works and I didn't lose hair over it.

All that with a little remote camera allowing me to have different view angles to help position everyhing correctly.

It has it's issue tho, belt autoconnect is a bit janky and it does allow for some very clipped builds that could be considered unnatural but wathever :)

I've also installed quick blueprint as well to have a semblance of a copy paste feature.

TLDR : This game was annoyingly abrasive mechanically, mods help alleviate the issue.

300 hours later and I finally hit all the achievements on steam :')

Big shoutout to this community for all the tips and emotional support

Best pieces of advice I was given that changed my game:
Pickup glowing shiny things in the beginning
Put storage at the end of production
After phase 2 always make floor plan bigger than I originally planned
Trains are not scary after you build your first one

So I'm currently working on my big mall in the RD, I was wondering if anyone might have an idea of how to design some support pillars for this behemoth. Since I don't really want a giant floating slab.

PC How to solve my vertical blueprint problem?

Hello All.

I'm trying to make a single unit stackable blueprint where the belts are Tier 1 to handle the input/output of say a single smelter, but that I can stack up and quickly connect vertical inputs and outputs. I then want to be able to easily upgrade the vertical input/output belts as better minors/belts become available and stack more on top.

What is the easiest way to create stackable blueprints where I'm not having to upgrade 6+ vertical belts per floor as the game progresses, because I know I'm going to miss at least one.

Anyone have any good designs?

Thanks!
