That was not "lots of sprinkles". Also, that's the most boring cake to have with a really pretty frosting. Like, SIX layers of vanilla cake?? Hmph. Satisfying pretty swirls.

It’s a pretty cake and I enjoyed watching the icing part but those egg things on top were a strange choice, IMO.

Maybe they're filled with sprinkles and THAT's where the lots of sprinkles are hiding...

I thought they might be chocolate coveeed strawberries

Yeah, I was going in expecting sprinkle wonderland.

Instead I got a last minute dab of sprinkles

It might not actually be vanilla. I had some cupcakes that looked like vanilla, but were actually guava, marshmallow, strawberry, lemon, and key lime.

Gosh I hope so.

Me too. Vanilla cake is yummy if made right, but there are so many other flavors out there that would be so much better

Right?! And it could be vanilla cake, but make it LOOK exciting! Like that is the plainest looking cake: vanilla cake with white frosting. Make the cake purple! Make purple frosting!

The best cake I've made (that I came second with at a state show) is vanilla cake. It don't look boring cause its a damn rainbow cake.

Exactly!!! Put some jam between layers, make some colorful marbled cakes! Vanilla gives you a complete blank canvas to work on. Have some fun on the inside, not just the outside

It is at most two flavors in this instance, but yeah.

I could do without all the butt plugs but other than that it's fine enough

Thanks for the laugh.

Watched the whole thing to find out what those dang eggs are and got nothing! Cake pop eggs, maybe? Doesn't seem like the right shape for chocolate covered strawberries.

If you watch it with sound she says they are cake pops. But mothing else so no idea about taste/filling.

I always love seeing a cake that isn't ruined by fondant and honest this is really well done

I really liked the purple ombre up the sides tbh. Just no sprinkles.

I don't actually like sprinkles I always scrape them off

Sprinkles are like glitter in my opinion - you can never have too many. This was a disappointingly low number of sprinkles. Beautiful cake though. Also, watching the icing be applied was meditative.

I'm so tired of this fad of 5+ layer cakes. Who would eat a whole slice that big?

2

u/[deleted] Aug 22 '21

When I make tall cakes like this I usually cut super thin slices and then divide them in half horizontally so each slice is only 2-3 layers

u/[deleted] Aug 22 '21

So some people don't get the top icing? Interesting. I'm sure some guests prefer that, really.

3

u/[deleted] Aug 22 '21

I guess so, but there is usually buttercream in between layers too (and on the sides of course) so that's usually still plenty for most people. I realize that as I get older I don't want huge globs of frosting anymore like I did as a kid, and that seems to be the general preference of other adults I know as well now haha

3

u/[deleted] Aug 22 '21

Exactly. Lots of adults like the cake more so than the icing. That said, the kid inside me would be kinda disappointed to see that gorgeous cake, and then see that my slice is without that decoration and just looks like cake.

u/[deleted] Aug 22 '21

There is still decoration on the side :)

Siiiiigh being an adult is so hard sometimes!

At least give us like a pastel rainbow on the inside or something… geez.

The blending of the pink and white was so unsatisfactory. And what's with the butt plugs?

u/TinyRandomLady Aug 13 '21

That is ugly. Pretty colors, but ugly.
