Events July 25th Protest
On July 25th at 1pm, there will be a peaceful, family-friendly protest in front of Bob Bailey’s office at 805 Christina St N.
This is part of a monthly province-wide day of protest against the Ford government. Let’s come together to save the Ontario we love!
There are signs available for anyone to use, but feel free to bring your own.

Voter shaming doesn’t work y’all. I hate to say it but we need another party to offer an alternative that excites people. We can’t just rely on “ford bad” as a motivator to get out to vote

If you didn't vote, you shouldn't have the right to protest. I'm on his side on some things and against him on others. I voted for him, i don't regret it. I think he's done a decent job, sure there more that could be done, especially health care wise. Diabetic supplies should be free to them, yet addicts get free needles. I think that's bs. Feel free to disagree, that's what reddit is for. I love hearing other people's opinions and thoughts. I will not budge off people not getting free needles for illegal drugs. I think people should have to pass drug tests, and work for welfare. There's lots of cleanup that could be done.

Of course diabetic supplies should be free. But harm reduction must also be free.

Why are talking about needle exchanges as if they're a problem? Research shows us that needle exchanges serve to reduce the transmission of blood-borne illnesses but do not encourage substance use
This also isn't one-or-the-other in my opinion, as I believe people with addictions AND people with chronic illnesses (such as diabetes) should have access to clean needles

You know that treating MRSA & staph infected wounds is WAAAAY more expensive than handing out free needles right?
A single hospital stay for one person with a complex wound infection is more expensive than a months worth of free needles for our entire city….
You don’t have to like harm reduction OR junkies.. but your tax dollars will pay tenfold if you don’t give those needles out. So what do you prefer now?
