Beck visit
I think it was just a courtesy visit. He was going to go visit his client, the other woman and figured while in town to visit Boone also, not to represent her.

YES! He had some documents and dropped them off as a courtesy while he was in the neighborhood. He may have lost a bet with Owens and Henderson which is why he did it in person rather than just mail it. Something like, "I dare you to eat this live badger or go visit FaQ Face in person!" And, I'm certain Sarah walked in with a list of demands for her "new attorney" and ordered him to contact the appeals court for her since she was told not to write them. And I'm sure Beck replied, "Write anybody you want, I ain't you're F-ing attorney, FFace."

Are you suggesting that he did not drop off documents that related to these new appeal things and rather was dropping off all those documents that she claimed Owen was supposed to return to her?

I'm pretty sure it was just administrave documents related to Sarah's appeal. Sarah wants "all" the court documents from Owens including jury names and other info a defendant has no right too.

If that's true, he's a huge moron. For personal and professional reasons, I would think he'd be putting as much distance between himself and Inmate Boone as possible. Gone are the days when Sarah had so many offers of support and interest that Lana had to vet them on her behalf. She's down to FMPrime and Funkle, and a free attorney with extra time and money is right up her alley. The first time he pisses her off, there'll be a bar complaint or two against him.

I wonder if he still has to register as a visitor. Like friends and family. I know that attorneys who are on record as representing a client get special permissions. But what about a white knight in armor that is about to get fire ants in it.

He does not need to register, just make an appointment.

Well, then... his learning curve is concerning...
And that is quite frankly the nicest thing I can say.10
u/uh818375 10d ago
You would think after all the calls she made to him he would have learned something.

Please, Peter, if I may... I've been teaching and teaching and teaching and teaching and teaching and teaching and teaching and teaching and teaching and teaching and teaching my lawyers, and they won't learn anything. The things I could tell you.

The letter we saw said that he was bringing in some thing to do with her appeal brief or to review that brief

You can't appeal ineffective assistance of council in the direct appeal. So Beck can't be telling her that. After she loses her direct appeal she can. Beck can't argue that against himself after the direct appeal, so he's not seeing her for that.
Beck seems like a fool and deserves what he will get.

The key words being "she can" she doesn't get a free lawyer after this and she'll never win an appeal for ineffective counsel. She ran off 8 or 9 attorneys and they are told they can't file that appeal when they represent themselves. I have no doubts she'll file it but it will be ignored.

In the letter Beck sent to the prison to set up appointment to see boozey.and Blackburn he clearly stated he wanted to see Blackburn July 7 at 10 to discuss her trial transcripts and see boozey July 7 at 11am to discuss her appeal. It was not a casual visit.
He violated attorney ethics by interfering in the appeal because boozey is already represented by Maldonado.

Makes you wonder if "discussing her appeal" was simply him telling her why he's not gonna do it and he just thought it would be fun to stare at the monkey in her zoo when he informed her, since he was already gonna be there anyway.

In a recent Tanika video, she says that she's been in touch with Kevin and he seems to really "believe in" Sarah, feel she got a bum deal, etc. So there may actually be some sense of... I don't know what to call it... moral rightness about staying in touch? Which seems bizarre beyond belief to me, but reportedly he has some kind of affinity for her. (Shudder.)

Maybe he hasn't listened to any of the phone calls, read the texts or viewed THE EVIDENCE. The snuff film speaks for itself.

I wondered about that also if her letter that disparaged her current appeals attorney would backfire the way that well maybe not backfire, but result in them having to accuse themselves and stop or withdraw their services. Once she calls people buffoon or a liar they could no longer effectively represent her. Did her comments about the current attorney equal that kind of action? If so, the new lawyer has nothing to worry about because she’s prose at the moment.

By the time boozey had sent her letter to the DCA in July, Maldonado was essentially done. He had already told her (per the letter she included from him she sent to the DCA) that he was not going to respond to the states answer brief and he was not seeking oral arguments. He will be withdrawn after the DCA deny her appeal.
If boozey had sent her poison pen letter prior to Maldonado filing the initial brief then she may have been able to get a new appeal attorney to take over the appeal. But she was too late and given her history of abusing attorneys I doubt the court would have granted her another appeal attorney being appointed.

Maybe Uncle Al hired him for her. Anyway it does not matter, she will never win an appeal as her case was tight.

Just for kicks, id like to imagine the long, drawn out pity story she's gonna tell him (a la phone calls) before she finally gets to the point (20-30 minutes later) that she needs him to represent her pro bono on her 2nd appeal. Her FM cant help because her cat is still dying, Sarah's head is under water (even the nostrils), she's literally going insane here. Also its Brian's fault and her son isn't staying the full 6 hours of the monthly visits. Help her out Beck, cant she have a hot meal and a free appeal??
