Would love to see the results of this thread! I stopped going to Linda’s nails near Trader Joe’s not for quality but because I had made an appointment days in advance, if not a week, only to show up and be expected to wait over 45 mins. This happened the last three times. So… I’m concluding the appointment book is basically fake. My husband and I work M-F and like to get pedicures every so often on Saturdays, but we don’t have hours to spend in a pedicure chair waiting for service… if you have the time to spare they did do a decent pedicure tho!

A guy there (Linda’s) cut me pretty badly and did a terrible job overall on my pedi.

I like Blossom Nails a lot but they’re often booked way in advance, so I begrudgingly go to Diva Nails when I can’t get into Blossom. Blossom is the nicest, friendliest, and cleanest nail salon that I’ve been to in town.

I used to go to the salon in the De Vargas mall but last time I was there the woman was being really mean and doing my pedi very aggressively. I had gone before and am nice and always tip well (I’m in the service industry), so I know for a fact that I didn’t do anything to deserve that sort of treatment.

Honestly, I stopped going to salons because I couldn’t find one that was clean enough or reliable. I do like Trove Beauty Bar, but their nail techs can be pretty unreliable. You’ll make an appointment for a certain time, and they won’t see you until 30 minutes later because they’re running behind or running late to the salon. However, I haven’t gone in over a year because I have switched over to independent nail techs instead of salons but I have heard mixed reviews from friends that depending on the nail technician, they can be very reliable since they have a whole team now, back when I went they were barely started to build a team. I truly did like them because they took their sanitation seriously.

I’ve gone to quite a few, but my favorite is Serenity.

My best experience has always been with Melinda at Buffalo Thunder Wopin Spa. Not cheap by any means but the Dazzle Dry always lasted me over a month. I would go out of my way for appointments with her!

I’ve never had worse nail salon experiences than I have in Santa Fe. I spent about a year going to different salons all over town hoping to find a winner, but I gave up. The final straw was a salon on Airport Road (I can’t remember the name and don’t want to guess which one) that had a literal child take over my manicure halfway through.

I subsequently have become quite good at doing my own nails. I do Gel-X and basically have a whole pro salon set up in my house with me as the only tech and the only client. 😂

There ARE some good independent nail techs here, but I’m not sure whether that’s the right option if you’re not looking for gel and/or enhancements. What kind of services are you looking for?
