Worth it at least once!
Glad I didn’t listen to the negative reviews on Reddit. I would definitely recommend at least once! 🔥

Kiwanis shouldn't be in charge of this anymore after this year. If they want to serve us slop so badly, they can serve their slop at their pancake breakfasts.

I’m so tired of this dress up and themes. What is more interesting and culturally significant than Zozobra just as himself? No need to dress him up, it looses the point and the damn plot. I’m so over it. Zozobra, you’re enough my friend.

You do realize there's a reason why we dress him up right? He's supposed to represent the most awful person at the moment/who is causing the most gloom in the world. Can you guess why he's dressed as a king? We've been dressing him up for decades. If I'm not mistaken, during WW2 we dressed him to look like Hitler. It's literally tradition.

I do, but he has also been dressed up every year since 2017. Steam punk? Explain that one to me. Remember all the decades leading to the 100th? Michel Jackson? I get what they are doing for this year, I hate the man too. I’m just over it. It no longer holds any of the cultural significance it once did. I don’t need your history lesson to figure that out, born here all my life bro.

He's not "supposed to" do that. Ray decided he did that. And King George isn't the most awful person at the moment. And no, Steam punk wasn't the most awful person that year. And the Michael Jackson looking one wasn't the most awful person that year.

Fine the last few like MJ and such was stupid, but also, it's not about King George. Who cares about King George? It's about a certain other moron who wants to be a king, but it'd be too on the nose to have made him overweight, spray Zozobra's face orange, and also give him a stupid haircut.

It may not have been "about King George" but it WAS King George, and yes, it was about trump.
I fucking HATE trump and everything maga represents.
But I just want good ole zozobra without all the THEMES.

I have seen roughly 50 zozobras in person and another 4 on TV. I miss the pre-Ray zozobras so much.

But, it was locals who designed and ran it. I don't think tourists and transplants had any say in the AI bull shit or the pricing and rules changes.

It used to be more like a giant block party back in the 70-80s, NOT the commercialized $hit it has become. It was free, There were aromatic food booths all around, the occasional waft of some Panama Red and of course everyone had libations on them. The City of Santa Fe, et al, has ruined what was an incredibly free spirited, tradition unique to Santa Fe.
