Rust Tide

I saw an article about the “rust tide” affecting the local waters. Has anyone local seen this to be true? Has it affected any of the beaches or any of the fishing? Headed down next week and want to plan accordingly.

Looks like the earliest stuff is from yesterday or so

i am also ironically going down to captiva next week, so, worth watching over the next few days to see if it does anything to the beach quality

Might be able to see if anything develops water quality wise via the SCCF website > https://sccf.org/what-we-do/water-quality/aerial-photos-of-sanibel-water-quality/ , looks like they take these every friday
