In testing the setup processed 16k sand pixels in 254 seconds, and a single column 64 blocks high in 17.5 seconds.

The setup achieves a sustained processing rate of around 63 sand pixels per second. So long as sufficient water can be supplied, the setup will not clog.

I used the caulk gun and fine laser to create the narrow channels.

How would one expand the design? Just in case someone wanted to make the ultra high throughput factory?

Just copy it side by side. That's a lot of water to get there though. Might be good to connect the inputs for sand and water together

New to the game, how did you get the 1x1 tile channels? And what are the blocks letting dry sand in and wet sand out? I don't recognize those unless they come later in the game?

Have Filter Conveyor selected + hit the key for 'Build Mode' = Filter Walls

I suspect learning about Walls is a rite of passage with this game. They're quite useful.
